He Has You Covered, Part 3of3, Evans Olang

Genesis 3:1-21, “The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them”

We looked at God the Creator stepping in making Adam and Eve garments and not only making them garments, but He also clothed them. We also saw how the plans of God are executed in heaven to be performed and perfected here on earth. We pray “let Your will be done here on earth as it is done in heaven”, in other words, let you Your architectural plan for our lives be performed and perfected here on earth.

When the prodigal son went to a far country and squandered everything, he came back home as a slave however his father had a different plan for his son Luke 15:21-22, “21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. 22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him;…”. The one that deserved to be punished received the best robe (garment), a chance to become what he blew. His father’s love, his attitude of humility and repentance opened a door for restoration. In Isaiah 61:3, “And provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty, instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and garment of praise instead of spirit of despair” (NIV). Amen, the Lord already has a covering for those who are mourning, He structured it in heaven and He is commanding His chosen ones to execute them here on earth by telling them to provide unto the grieving in Zion a crown of beauty, oil of gladness and the garments of praise. Many are struggling to worship because they are wearing garments of heaviness leading to depression, confusion, broken, have no joy but the Lord would have His word come to you who is struggling today, “I have a garment of praise for the spirit of despair to give to you, I will take what you have and replace it with what I have, garments of praise”.

Joseph in the book of Genesis had a father who loved him so much so he made him something special, Genesis 37:3, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic (coat, robe) of many colors“. Jacob had a reason for making his son a coat of many colors. I see it this way, though Joseph had a coat of many colors, he did not know that was symbolic for when he was sold into Egypt and later became the number 2 man, he was able to serve everyone without discrimination, he was able to serve all races, colors, all personalities, all genders in other words, he served everyone equally. We’ve received Jesus, the coat of many colors, we can now serve anyone and everyone for what we were not we are now because we’ve been made.

Time fails me for there so much about the garments we could learn from, example, Jesus wore garments while here on earth and we see a woman with the issue of blood touching the hem of His garments in Matthew 9:20. At His crucifixion, the soldiers parted His garments among them. There is something about the garments and we are blessed to have God prepare and clothe us with them.

I’m glad He has me covered,. My needs, desires dreams, ambitions and goals are covered. When you think that nothing is happening, just remember that He has you covered. You may not feel it, it is not a matter of feeling, it’s a matter of knowing and believing that He has His garments on you. Prayer covers us; and just like the paint covers the surface when applied, the blood of Jesus has covered us. “The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them”, NOT ONLY DOES HE MAKE THE GARMENTS FOR US, HE HAS US COVERED WITH THEM.
