The Best Is Yet To Come, Part 3of3, Evans Olang

John 2:1-10, “vs. 10 …but you have saved the best till now.” (NIV)

Vs. 8, “And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it”. Point to make, faith goes with humility. You can only bow when you are humbled. Humility is the act of submission or courtesy, submitting to what the Lord has said over what I might think. The servants had faith to pour water however do you not think they would look stupid giving water to the MC? Could not Jesus tell them to taste it first then give? This could have been a test to see if they would still have faith till the end. It is like first having faith for your miracle then having faith for someone’s miracle.

Vs. 9, “When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine… the master called the bridegroom. vs. “10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine”,(NKJV) What makes this statement interesting, the MC said, “EVERY MAN” sets the good wine at the beginning”, the difference was, Jesus was NOT every man. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. He does not operate like men. His is unique doing things uniquely because He is infinite God Man. Are we not glad He is not like us? we fail, we misjudge, we go astray but He is solid, concrete. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore, He changes not. “… He does things when you least expect them. “You have saved the best till now!”(NIV). The best that came last was a new thing, praise God. Adam was God’s created son, Jesus was God’s ONLY begotten Son, the BEST did not come first. The first might not be enough and might have flaws but watch, the best was yet to come The best comes as a total package because the AUTHOR is part of the package!!! Psalm 103.

I cannot settle and rejoice over the present, yes I thank God for them but I am looking ahead for the best that is to come. Romans 8:18, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us”. I am not comfortable where I am for the God of the best is not comfortable with me being where I am. He did not bring me this far to leave me in the middle, for Philippians 1:6, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”. If God would not stop until He brought the Israelites to the best land He promised them, how much more should we have faith that He will not stop until He has done the best for His own glory. Pour out all you have, trust Him and expect the best to come. Matt 19:30, “But many that are first, shall be last; and the last shall be first”, Hebrews 10:9, “Behold I have come to do thy will oh God, He takes away the first, that He may establish the second“. The MC thought the bride and the groom saved the best for last, the truth of the matter, Jesus provided the best last. Blessings Ev
