A Need To Be In Uniform, Evans Olang

John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (power) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:”

Ever had those days you just couldn’t function effectively like you should? Before day break, you are tossing on your bed back and forth wondering what the day will bring. Previous days were tough and your conclusion is, “today will present the same if not worse”. Fear has gripped your heart and you just can’t seem to get past it and move on. Don’t fret for God is present in the situation with a solution. In school we would give the teacher the right answers to math question only to learn that he was interested in how we arrived at the answer more than the right answer. Most of the time the answer was right but we couldn’t tell the teacher how we arrived at it because we cheated. The process to get to that answer is more important than the answer itself. So praying that God would lead you to that destination is better than praying, God let me find myself there.

POWER is authority, ability, right, strength, control, influence etc. At the point of believing, you are given rights you did not posses before the conversion. That right (power) is the energy one receives to do greater things they couldn’t do without it. God empowers His people, in other words, gives them ability, right, strength to influence their day to day living. 2Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER…” Give anyone power and they will function even more. In job or leadership positions, people are not respected much because they are people, they are respected because of their ranks (positions). Their ranks give them power to rule. The officers have power to enforce laws because of their given positions and ranks. If you are stopped, their badge is what shows you that they have power to do what is right.  If you go against it, that badge will stop your mouth from saying, “You cannot do nothing to me“. “As many as received Him, to them gave ye POWER to become”,1. A child and 2. As a child, an overcomer”. Your rank and position gives you the Power to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil.

As long as you have the power, you will lay and sleep, Psalms 3:3-8, “5 I But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.4 I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah 5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around”. Psalms 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You (My POWER) are with me; Your rod and Your Stuff (badge), they comfort me”. Only God can empower you and I to become what we couldn’t be by ourselves and with that power, we can face and conquer fear, doubts, difficulties, and life obstacles. Often times we face the day without wearing our uniform and putting on that badge to give us power and that is why Paul writes to the Romans in Romans 13:14, “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts”. Without the uniform, we are exposing ourselves to stuff we could overcome if we wore our uniform otherwise we are vulnerable to attacks. Purpose in your heart to wake up, take the power given to you through prayer and His word, put it on, have your badge in a place where it can be seen and face the day under His POWER that works within you (Ephesians 3:20). Blessings Ev
