Psalm 145:16, “You open Your hand, And satisfy the desire of every living thing”

As a science teacher I have taught my students that all life has basic needs. Most living things need food, water, air, and living space (shelter). I’ve heard it said in the context of marriage that man has a need for respect that can be satisfied by a man’s wife. Speak The Same Thing, 2of2, Evans Olang

1Corinthians 1:10, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment”

In Acts 8, Phillip goes down to Samaria to preach Christ. Peter and John upon hearing that the Samaritans had received the word came to witness. When they got there, through their laying on of hands, the people who had received the gospel message from Phillip received the Holy Spirit. Read the rest of this entry »

Right from the early beginning of human race, tongues has revealed its uniqueness in bringing a people group together. A classic example appears in Genesis 11 where the building of the tower of babel became possible because the people were of the same mind and of the same tongue. Read the rest of this entry »

Galatians 2:1-10, vs. “8 (for he who worked through Peter for his apostolic ministry to the circumcised worked also through me for mine to the Gentiles), 9 and when James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.” ESV

Who we link arms with is very important because who we are, what we believe, what we stand for can partly be traced to those we link ourselves with. One popular example, in the last few years there has been a drive for unity for a common cause in many areas with Evangelical and Catholics Together (ECT).

What You Have Is What You Need, Evans Olang

Exodus 4:1-5, “…So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod””

God can use you because He has placed something in you to work with. You may not know what it is but it’s there. We all have different gifts and talents given by God. There is something about being together in unity that paves away for gifts and talents to be realized. God allows us to have different measures of gifts when shared, our growth increases. The bible says that we collectively are like a human body that has hands, legs, head etc. They are all working together and not able to function fully without the help of the other. The legs cannot tell the hands “I don’t need you” neither can the mouth tell the eyes that it does not need it. They all have different functions but they all work together. Psalm 133:1, “Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Read the rest of this entry »
