It Is Settled, Pastor Phil Sessa

Psalm 119:89, “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.”

Here on earth people have various discrepancies with the Word of God. Here are the thoughts of some people that don’t believe God’s Word to be the absolute truth:

  1. I don’t believe the Bible to be God’s Word.
  2. The Bible has been changed.
  3. It’s just a bunch of stories.
  4. Not everything is true in the Bible.
  5. The Bible has contradictions.
  6. I tried to read the Bible, but can’t understand it.
  7. Didn’t men, NOT God, write the Bible?

And whereas all of these statements can be easily explained in away, and please e-mail us if there is one you believe and need an answer to, or one that you would like to know so as to answer another who has or may make such a statement, these statements are never heard in heaven. Continue reading

His Process Accomplishes His Purpose, Evans Olang

Deuteronomy 2:1-4, “…You have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward”

It’s easy to talk about trust and be led of God but when it comes to the actual action it becomes a little bit hard because of what we have trained ourselves to think of ourselves. I don’t know how many times I have talked about trusting in God to lead and then felt like I was by myself or I did not see how things were going to come out in the long run. If you’ve noticed, the Lord tells us things but He never explains Himself.

When God called the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, the plan was to bring them to the promise land. When the Lord begins to do something, He already has an end result for it and so when He begins to do it, it’s not for Him to try and see if it would work but for Him to finish what He has began. We can start with Him and then give up but He will not. Continue reading

Confidence In God, Evans Olang

Psalm 118:8, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man”image

Life is a long and bumpy road. We each carry our troubles, like heavy load. There are many hard turns and some dead ends. However whenever we are stuck, we must know whom look to. Think of the elections, majority put their confidence in the next president hoping he will turn things around.

The scripture verse above is right in the middle of the bible. I would call it the heartbeat of every man who understands what life is. When I look at a scripture, I tend to pick out a word or two to understand why the author chose to use those particular words. In this case, the author used the word “Confidence” instead of “Faith” and my first reaction was, is there any difference? Let’s start with “faith”, faith is trust, belief and confidence. In His Time, Part 3of3, Sarah Susan

Exactly the night before Haman was to speak to the king to have Mordecai hanged, God did not allow the king to sleep. Sleep is ordered by the Lord. “He grants sleep to those He loves” Psalms 127, Praise Him…Only those who are peaceful can have a good sleep. Continue reading

In His Time, Part 2of3, Sarah Susan

To pick up from where we left, we learn how Haman became excited about his plan and that all the Jews would be destroyed forever. In high spirits, he called his friends and wife Zeresh and boasted of his vast wealth, his many sons, all the ways the king exalted him and how he was elevated above the other nobles and officials… “Pride goes before a fall” Continue reading

In His Time, Part 1of3, Sarah Susan

What is “its time” and what is “our time?” Let us meditate on it ….Many times, we tend to be in a hurry regarding things in our day today life. Occasionally, if there is a delay, we panic…Things are not moving as we had expected…Thus there is also some discouragement /frustration ..and we cannot wholeheartedly praise Him for all His works. When We Complicate Faith For Nothing, Evans Olang

Acts 3:1-16, “16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all”

Why do we make faith complicated? Many preachers especially those of Word Faith make faith so complicated and so hard to reach. It is so complicated that it sounds like you have to do it right, you have to follow a recipe or a formula to get it right. This is often crowned with sow a seed faith to get your prayers answered. In other words, how you sow indicates what kind of faith you have. It almost sounds like you must have faith in your faith if anything is to happen in your life and many are miserable because they have been told their faith is not strong to receive.

Prayer Puts God To Work, Evans Olang

Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”

Not too long ago I was watching a DVD entitled “extreme engineering”. It was a DVD about how some mega structures have been built. One mega structure that caught my attention was one about building a railroad. They surveyed the area by which the rail would pass. There were different obstacles, a major one being a mountain in front of them. Instead of going around it which was impossible, they only had one choice, to make a way through the mountain however hard it was going to be, attempting the impossible with what they had. With the mountain before them, they had to bring in the right equipment to break through to the other side. They used explosives to create a path. Continue reading

Make The Lord Your Trust, Evans Olang

Psalm 40:1-4, “Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his Trust”

People come before God to pray to Him about different things for they are fully persuaded that He is their refuge and strength. Where you are fully convinced that if the Lord does not come through for you, you are destined to fail. If you are like me, you may find it hard to wait for what you have prayed for and know what God’s will is for the situation you are in. This verse in Hebrews sheds light clearly and I will use it to set the ball rolling. Hebrews 10:35&36, “Cast not therefore your confidence which has great recompense of reward, for you are in need of patience that after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise” Continue reading
