Beware Of False Teachers, Part 3of3, Pastor Phil Sessa

Jude 1:3–4, “3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ “

When one looks throughout the Scriptures and even in our world today, there is constant fighting, contending for land, possessions, property, status, etc…. Jude tells us that we need to CONTEND EARNESTLY for the faith. Continue reading “Beware Of False Teachers, Part 3of3, Pastor Phil Sessa”

Beware Of False Teachers, Part 2of3, Pastor Phil Sessa

2John 7–11, “7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. 9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds”

In part 1 of this series, we examined Peter’s warning of false teachers where he spoke of why the unbiblical doctrine of some is such a dangerous poison among those in the Church. Continue reading “Beware Of False Teachers, Part 2of3, Pastor Phil Sessa”

Beware Of False Teachers, Part 1of3, Pastor Phil Sessa

2Peter 2:1-2, “1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

Anyone that has watched a magician or an illusionist knows that the hand can appear to be quicker than the eye. Many illusionists cause one to look in one direction while the illusionist does something in another direction. Continue reading “Beware Of False Teachers, Part 1of3, Pastor Phil Sessa”

This Is The Will Of God…, Evans Olang

1Thessalonians 5:16-18, “16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”

These three verses are short, however they are weighty. If I was to write a paper on these three, I may end up with a book.

In looking at the few verses in 1Thessalonians 5, I realize that many times we look at vs.18 in reference to the will of God. That it’s God’s will that we give Him thanks in everything. Note that the bible does not say to give Him thanks “FOR”. It’s while we are “IN” it that we give thanks. Continue reading “This Is The Will Of God…, Evans Olang”

The Pillar And Ground Of The Truth, 1of2, Evans Olang

1Timothy 3:14-16, “14 These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; 15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth

As I think of qualifications of a minister and the model by which the church is to run, I count on Paul’s epistle to Timothy because of its depth and clear instructions. This epistle appears to have been written to Timothy while he was at Ephesus facing numerous challenges as a young pastor. Paul wrote to instruct him in the choice of proper offices in the church by keeping to mind the right qualifications he outlined, as well as in the exercise of a regular ministry.

Need For Discernment, Inspired by Pastor Gregg Johnson

2Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables”.

There is a great need for discernment in the 21ST century church. In the Pentecostal movement where souls are being added to the kingdom of God in thousands every day, there is a great need for INTEGRITY and CREDIBILITY demonstrated by pastors, preachers, teachers, prophets to mention a few. The reason for this is because as the Pentecostal movement continues to rise and great things are happening, we are also seeing a lot of damage being done in the name of Christianity and integrity and credibility are lacking in some of the lives of the individuals who call themselves Christians especially in the leadership arena. The integrity of the word is compromised through twist and manipulation of the word of God causing many to live in error and heresy. AFLAME!, Christopher J. Keck

2Timothy 1:5-6, “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. For this reason I remind you to FAN INTO FLAME the GIFT of GOD, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” –

I pray that this day my message finds you and that you’ll be boldly strengthened by the LORD. That the fear of God (Proverbs 1:7) will lead you as the shoes of Christ’s gospel confidently tread forward. We should not be ashamed of HIS testimony, but rather we should share in the SUFFERING for the Gospel by the power of God (2 Timothy 1:8). Continue reading “AFLAME!, Christopher J. Keck”

Always Be Ready, Part 2of2, Evans Olang

1Peter 3:15, says “15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, AND ALWAYS BE READY to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;”

One day, two JW’s (Jehovah witnesses) visited our home. My wife and I  gave them an opportunity to share about their faith and why they believe what they believe. After they were done, having known some of their positions especially on who Jesus is, we took time to ask them tough questions about their worldview and in that process also shared the gospel with them. We now pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken them, convict them and lead them to the true light. Continue reading “Always Be Ready, Part 2of2, Evans Olang”

Always Be Ready, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Daniel 3:17&18, “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up”.

There is an ongoing war between Relative and Absolute statements. We get caught up in the middle many times. Let’s tackle a few questions.

First question, “What do you believe?” This question is broad until you add more words to it to identify what the question is specifically targeting. Can we say that facts can negate beliefs? of course we can. If I was to say that trucks don’t kill, I would have to be 100% sure as a fact, that would be considered an absolute statement, in this case this statement is not true. We all know that trucks can kill so my belief that it cannot will not affect or change facts. Continue reading “Always Be Ready, Part 1of2, Evans Olang”
