Don’t Write Me Off Yet, Part 2of3, Evans Olang

2Kings 5:1-19, “2 And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife. 3 Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.”

Though the Syrians were idolaters, and oppressed God’s people, yet the deliverance of which Naaman had been the means, is here ascribed to the Lord. Whether Naaman knew it was God who had given Him victory and not his own ability is not told to us, he’s healing was going to happen through channels he would least expect but would serve God’s purpose, making His name great. The Lord Is With Us, Part 1of5, Evans Olang

2Kings 6:8-23, “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them”

Our God is a great God, something we need not to forget. He knows how to battle His enemies in the battlefield. He does not fight according to men’s ways but His. There are days He battles for us and there are days He equips and teaches us to battle. Many times we may not be prepared for the battle but He is. We may be caught unaware, He is always aware. Psalm 46:1, “…He is a very PRESENT help in trouble”. Continue reading “The Lord Is With Us, Part 1of5, Evans Olang”

Me Against The World, Evans Olang

1Kings 18:20-40, “… and the God who answers by fire, He is God…”

The world is full of many doctrines, some doctrines have erred from the truth resulting into people being deceived. We have been given an awesome opportunity as believers not just to accept anything without first testing and approving. We then we become vessels God can use to reach His people with the truth He has revealed to us. A number of believers have also fallen on the trap of error as they were not well equipped enough to differentiate or discern. Continue reading “Me Against The World, Evans Olang”

Love Outshines All, Pastor Phil Sessa

Matthew 17:5-8, “5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only”

In 1999 I had the privilege of going to visit the Holy Land. As we traveled around the places that Jesus had once stepped, I noticed that wherever Jesus did something significant, a church was built to commemorate the act. Continue reading “Love Outshines All, Pastor Phil Sessa”

Whose Voice Are You Listening To? Part 1of2, Evans Olang

1kings 13:16 -17, “16 And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place. 17 For I have been told by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’

In this story, we are told of a man of God who was sent to bring a message to wicked king Jeroboam. His message showed he was a prophet. Rather than the bible call him a prophet, the bible called him a man of God. I believe this was done deliberately because there were prophets in the land both true and false as you will see, and God wanted us to learn the difference. We are not told of who he was rather whose he was.

Whose Voice Are You Listening To? Part 2of2, Evans Olang

1kings 13:16-17, “16 And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place. 17 For I have been told by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’”

While we talk about the old lying prophet, can God use a false prophet? Absolutely. Can a false prophet say true things biblically? absolutely. Does saying some good things make them true prophets? Absolutely NOT. From what I read, anytime God used a false prophet, it was NOT to bring blessings but to bring judgment. Continue reading “Whose Voice Are You Listening To? Part 2of2, Evans Olang”
