God’s will that we see in the Bible is His permissive or perfect will (1Thessalonians 4:3,  1Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 143:10).  To discern the will of God we must KNOW, THINK, PRAY and ACT biblically. These two vs. will be our foundation, Romans 12:1-2, “1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not CONFORM any longer to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of your mind. Then you will be able to TEST and APPROVE what God’s will is–his GOOD, PLEASING and PERFECT WILL”(NIV). CONFORMED is to act or be in accord or be in agreement with something, in this case the world (Psalm 1, Romans 8:7, Colossians 1:21). TRANSFORMED on the other hand is to change the nature, function or condition. Other word suitable is to convert. Read the rest of this entry »

Isaiah 41:15, “Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make thee hills of chaff”

Often times I have used the word “season modes” for every season presents it’s weather and everyone has to learn to adapt in every season otherwise you become a victim. At times even the preachers go dry, and they are left with no power and no strength to fight the good fight of a soldier. If the preachers, pastors, deacons, board members, evangelists are not exempt from the dry and burnouts. God may take you through a process and when you think you now have everything in place to make you perfect, He will relocate you again for His purpose is not to make you confident in yourself but confident in Him. Psalm 23:3, “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake”

The-Shepherd-sermon

A believer has three stages of life, Justification, Sanctification and Glorification. Justification and Glorification are God does for us, Sanctification is what God does in us. Justification means being saved from the Penalty of sin, from the demands of the law (God’s wrath). While sanctification is being saved from the Power of sin. Glorification is being saved from the Presence of sin.
Believers are currently in the stage of sanctification (purification), where God is working in us. It’s the pruning process and the Jeremiah 18 experience in the potter’s house. Read the rest of this entry »

Carrying Treasure, Pastor Phil Sessa

2Corinthians 4:7, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

If you needed the greatest treasure you owned, transported to a group of people that you destined to receive it that who would you entrust with it? Would you give it to the fierce warrior, or perhaps the brilliant scientist? Maybe the military soldiers should be charged with so great a treasure. Read the rest of this entry »
