Subtle Works Of Satan, 1of3, Evans Olang

Posted on Updated on

Matthew 4:1-11, “1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry”

There is a subtle move of Satan operating in the Christian circles derailing believers from seeking what is most important to seeking what is temporal. And what is appearing to be the move of God having been wrapped up with a distortion of God’s word is causing many believers to drift from the path they ought to be in.

Be Ye Holy, Benjamen Leahey

1Peter 1:16-, “Because it is written, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.”

Holiness is the very essence and nature of God. It is the description of who He is. Time and time again, both in the Old and New Testament, God is proclaimed as holy, both by men and angels, all of His creation declares His holiness. Here, God speaks through the anointed word of Peter, declaring a truth that is as pertinent in the New testament as it was in the Old Testament, we are to be holy, for He is holy. This is what God demands of His people. This is not an option, just as sin is not an option. We are to forsake sin, and to be holy, partakers of the very divine nature of God. Perception Of Preparation, Part 2of3, Pastor Phil Sessa

1Samuel 17:38-40, “38 So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand”

My wife and I went to a marriage retreat one year where the speaker shared a story from his marriage about how he cut carrots verses how his wife cut carrots. Whenever he would see his wife cutting carrots he would correct her, and instruct her to cut the carrots his way. She would do it for a time although feeling uncomfortable doing it his way. When he left the room, she usually returned to the way that she initially was cutting the carrots. Read the rest of this entry »

Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, Evans Olang

2Timothy 3:16&17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”

There are those days you find you are dragging your feet behind. The moment your alarm clock goes off, you know it’s time to wake up and get ready for tasks ahead of you for that day. Your two legs debate which should get out of the bed first. We even drag when it comes to reading the bible and praying. As you are reading the bible, you fall asleep or you get nothing out of it, you pray for two minutes, mumble a few words and fall to sleep. I find it much easier to read other books than read the bible and yet the bible has all I need pertaining to life. It is the book that should be read daily by every believer. A True Worshiper Of God, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

John 4:20-26-Verse 22, “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for Salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth…”

If you are anything like me, every now and then, you probably find yourself meditating on something profound that you should have paid closer attention to in the first place to understand why it was done, so you can explain it to others. I have been meditating on this passage for about a week now. What does it mean to be a worshipful person or be in a worship service? The question isn’t whether I know what being worshipful is, it’s more of finding ways to articulate it to people in a way that makes sense, as I continue to discover more about the mysteries of worship. Let Go Of What You Are Holding Onto, Evans Olang

Numbers 12:1-16, “13 So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “Please heal her, O God, I pray”

Just to add from “God Defends His Chosen” message, Yahweh’s revelation to Moses was unique. It was direct (plainly) and immediate (face to face); the prophets’ revelations were mediated forms. The clear lesson is that even prophets cannot presume to claim that their message is equal to that of the scriptures. Prophesies do not have the equal authority the bible has. Some prophesies have failed, God’s word has never failed. Read the rest of this entry »

When God Interrupts Your Ministry, Pastor Phil Sessa

Luke 1:22 – 23, “22 When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak. 23 When his time of service was completed, he returned home”

Have you ever had your life interrupted by something? I can recall being in Bible college and I was sitting being bored in my Old Testament class, when I was summoned out of class by an administrator and told to call home because of an emergency. I called and found that I would be on a plane the next day to attend my grandfather’s funeral in Puerto Rico. I missed one week of classes because I was interrupted by something more important, unfortunately it was my papa’s death. Read the rest of this entry »
