John 15 Study: Abiding In Christ, 4of10, Evans Olang

John 15:7-8, “7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples”

God’s will that we see in the Bible is His permissive or perfect will (1Thessalonians 4:3,  1Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 143:10).  To discern the will of God we must KNOW, THINK, PRAY and ACT biblically. These two vs. will be our foundation, Romans 12:1-2, “1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not CONFORM any longer to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of your mind. Then you will be able to TEST and APPROVE what God’s will is–his GOOD, PLEASING and PERFECT WILL”(NIV). CONFORMED is to act or be in accord or be in agreement with something, in this case the world (Psalm 1, Romans 8:7, Colossians 1:21). Ambassadors For Christ, Evans Olang

2Corinthians 5:20, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God

Ambassadors are ministers of the highest rank, with full authority to represent their country. If you are born again, you need to realize that you are an ambassador for Christ. You are a minister with a highest rank raised to represent his country, the Kingdom of heaven with the gospel. We are not of this world, we are ambassadors in this world. Those who are saved are citizens of heaven temporarily on assignment here on earth (country). No ambassador comes in his own authority and does what he wants, he displays a lifestyle depicting what his country is like. Read the rest of this entry »

Open Your Mouth Wide, And I Will Fill It, Evans Olang

Psalm 81:10,”I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it”.

There are those times when things are not going on well in your life; the first question I suspect runs through your mind, “What did I do wrong?” Those are the times you begin to trace back to what might have happened to have brought you to this condition. When you are sick and go to the doctor, what do they do? They run some tests on you and ask you about your family health history. The doctor is trying to see where what you have could have started from. And if one of your family members had/have it, the conclusion would be, most probably that is where you may have inherited it from. Read the rest of this entry »
