It’s very important to start your day on a good note; it sets the tone for the rest of your day.I get very busy and tired a lot, it therefore matters to me how I start my day. It is a choice we have to make otherwise we easily drift to become victims of stress, frustrations, and lack of joy trying to do what is right. Nehemiah 6:1-3 “…Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. 3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?
What distracts you? When you sit in a class or at church and are trying to be focused what are the things that draw your attention away? When you are at work and trying to diligently stay on task, what tends to deviate you from your task? Nehemiah was in a situation where he was doing a task for God, rebuilding the wall of the temple, and a distraction came to try to divert him from his task. Read the rest of this entry »

We often get overwhelmed with daily responsibilities. Sometimes when you are still working on this, here comes another one. While trying to work on another one, here comes a new one. Everything has its season and how we deal with situations during certain seasons may determine the outcome. The overwhelming situations can choke out peace, confidence and courage, as weeds do choke good plants if they remain active in the same field with good plants. Psalm 119:37, “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way”
David in Psalm 119 craved revival that over and over again he mentions it, and the verse that captured my heart was, vs. 37 which says “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way”. The scripture we shared from Isaiah 40 cannot come handy until we are ready and that means turning our eyes from looking at worthless things.
Today we look at a man who prayed for revival in his land. Ezra 9 tells of Ezra, one of the three key leaders who left Babylon for the reconstruction of Jerusalem. The three leaders were Zerubbabel (first to come to Jerusalem) followed by Nehemiah and then Ezra. Zerubbabel reconstructed the temple, Nehemiah built the walls, and Ezra restored teaching and worship. Read the rest of this entry »
