Who Craves Your Spirit? Part 4of5, Pastor Phil Sessa

Numbers 14:24, “But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.”

“I have come to make a difference. I’ve said it, I mean it and now I’m here to represent it.” This quote comes concerning his mission. This person is Evans Olang. When I first met Evans, it was his spirit that stood out to me. Continue reading “Who Craves Your Spirit? Part 4of5, Pastor Phil Sessa”

What Defines How You Deal With Situations? Evans Olang

Proverbs 23:7, “As he thinks in his heart so is he…”

Nothing begins to tailors our lives life like how we think of ourselves. You will agree with me that how you perceive yourself has a way of affecting your life. I would say that what we think of about ourselves in Christ matters a lot. If you continue to see yourself defeated, sooner or later you begin develop those symptoms. What comes out your mouth is a reflection of what you have inside. Speaking defeat indicates you are harboring defeat inside. This boils down to, whose report will you believe? Either you are going to be like Joshua and Caleb who brought good report or the other 10 spies the bible does not even waste time giving us their names who brought a different report, report of defeat. Shield Of Defense Is Present, Evans Olang

Psalm 3:3, “For thou O Lord are a shield for me, the glory and the lifter of my head”

After talking to different people and looking at my life, I see that we are all fighting battles. This is not an occasional thing but a daily thing. It may be fought at different degrees and levels but the fact remains we are battling. Often times I sit and wonder whether what I am battling will ever come to an end. At times I feel like there is victory and then right after getting victory in one battle, another surfaces and the battle continues. If we could avoid battles, believe me, I would be the first one to avoid them yet we are not called to avoid but face them. I believe you can survive battles without offensive weapons as long as you have defensive weapons. If you just have the offensive weapons, I guarantee you will be exposed to more dangers because offensive will tackle mostly what you see while defensive tackles all corners seen and unseen. Overcoming Life Obstacles Part 3of5, Pastor Boaz Olang

“ And the Lord said to Joshua, see, I have given into your hand Jericho…and you shall compass the city…and go round about the city once. this you will do six days, and you shall compass the city seven times…” Joshua 6:2-3, 5.

We shared on Plowing through the obstacles, this morning he will be sharing on Going Round the obstacles as we continue to learn how to overcome life obstacles.

Our main text, from the Bible, is found in the book of Joshua 6: 1-27. I recommend that you read the whole chapter, after work, quietly and meditate on it. God will reveal more great things to you. Continue reading “Overcoming Life Obstacles Part 3of5, Pastor Boaz Olang”

Are You Committed? Pastor Phil Sessa

Joshua 24:15, “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua was calling Israel to honesty and commitment. He wanted them to have one heart focus. He desired to see his people fear God and serve Him with an undivided heart. James 1:8 tells us that “a double-minded man is unstable in all he does” Joshua wanted stable committed followers, not those who jumped on the bandwagon. Joshua desired Israel therefore to make a declaration of allegiance to the Lord in his midst. Continue reading “Are You Committed? Pastor Phil Sessa”

Be In The Word, Evans Olang

Joshua 1:8, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”

Growing in the Lord only comes from seeking Him daily, and feeding on his word. Saying you want to grow and be blessed is easy, but if you do not do what it takes to generate this growth, then do not be surprised if the enemy defeats you. Hibernating animals feed, while gathering and storing food for winter months because they will be incapable of leaving their dens during the season. Prior to the winter, these animals gather and store enough food to take them through the cold season. As believers, we also ought to do the same—eat the word, while gathering and storing enough for the challenging and harsh seasons. When those seasons come, and they will, we will be able to pull verses we learnt and stored in good times, and apply them in difficult situations. Continue reading “Be In The Word, Evans Olang”

We Are Able, Part 2of2, Evans Olang

Numbers 13:1-33, “30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it”

The bible says that as a man thinks in his heart so is he. Many times we speak what we see. What we see indeed can be a fact but believers are not called to live by facts but by faith. In our story, the fact is, there were giants in the land of Canaan, however the truth was, God had given them the land regardless of the facts. Continue reading “We Are Able, Part 2of2, Evans Olang”

We Are Able, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Numbers 13:1-33, “30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it”

To the Only Wise God Our Savior who has led us to see another New Year. How do we view this New Year and walk in it? Allow me to share some encouraging principles as we move forward. I hope you find some truth to assist you in this journey that only God can bring us through. Continue reading “We Are Able, Part 1of2, Evans Olang”

The Captain Of The Host, Pastor Phil Sessa

Joshua 5:13-15, “13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “ Are You for us or for our adversaries?” 14 So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.”And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?” 15 Then the Commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.”

On the night of Israel’s attack on Jericho, Joshua personally surveyed the area surrounding the city, inspecting the fortress walls. As the military leader of Israel, Joshua was strategizing by examining up the situation set before him. The words “he looked up” convey that Joshua was surprised. “A man” is what Joshua thought he was seeing, but subsequent events reveal that it was no ordinary man.
