I Reported What Impacted Me, Part 4of4, Evans Olang

Matthew 26:7, “A woman came to Him having a lambasted flask of very costly fragrant oil…”

As I mentioned earlier, John tells us exactly who asked the question. John 12:4-5, “4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot….said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” If you know the story of Judas, he was the man who betrayed Jesus. Jesus knew him all along but still allowed him in. He knew that he was a thief yet the money collection bag was entrusted in his hands. Question, did he really care for the poor? John says that he did not and it is also a clear indication that He did not care about Jesus receiving this kind of worship. Something to ponder on, didn’t Jesus know everything that was in the hearts of the people in that room? It was just a matter of time before the hidden would be revealed. True worship will always reveal what is inside and when revealed, either you deal with it or cover it up. Read the rest of this entry »

God’s Decrease, Your Increase (Sifting for Victory), Part 1of2, Pastor Phil Sessa

Judges 7:2, “The LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands. In order that Israel may not boast against me that her own strength has saved her,”

When you are facing a difficult battle ahead does it make sense to decrease your weapons? Gideon was the leader of Israel’s army, and God would decrease the size of Gideon’s army with a battle just on the horizon. The Lord’s instructions probably came as a complete shock to Gideon. I can imagine the he was confused upon hearing, “You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands.” That doesn’t sound very sensible to me; decrease your army size, because there are too many men for battle. Gideon’s army was already outnumbered four to one. Read the rest of this entry »

I Must Exalt Christ, Evans Olang

John 3:30, “He MUST increase, but I MUST decrease

Representing Christ is an exciting thing. As a song goes, “We want to see Jesus lifted high a banner that flies across the land, that men might see that Jesus is the way to heaven”. It is a beautiful thing to represent Christ. To be His ambassador in this world. Christ MUST be exalted which means, we must raise His rank, glorify, praise, worship and honor Him. That is the number one duty of man. It’s not about position, ministry or calling that is on top, Christ is. Read the rest of this entry »

When God Interrupts Your Ministry, Pastor Phil Sessa

Luke 1:22 – 23, “22 When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak. 23 When his time of service was completed, he returned home”

Have you ever had your life interrupted by something? I can recall being in Bible college and I was sitting being bored in my Old Testament class, when I was summoned out of class by an administrator and told to call home because of an emergency. I called and found that I would be on a plane the next day to attend my grandfather’s funeral in Puerto Rico. I missed one week of classes because I was interrupted by something more important, unfortunately it was my papa’s death. Read the rest of this entry »

Blessing Our Mothers, Evans Olang

Proverbs 30:11, “11 There is a generation that curses its father, And does not bless its mother..” .

Everyone has a story to tell about their mother and everyone will agree that our mothers have played key roles in our upbringing and we ought to thank and bless them. In our time children regardless of age have despised their parents. How mant sit down to think about how God through their mothers have played huge part in their upbringing. Yes they were not perfect but they gave it all. While I share on mothers, I’m not dismissing the roles of dads in our lives, I just want to concentrate on mothers on this mother’s day. Let’s see some of the blessed mothers in the bible. Read the rest of this entry »
