1Corinthians 1:10, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment”

In Acts 8, Phillip goes down to Samaria to preach Christ. Peter and John upon hearing that the Samaritans had received the word came to witness. When they got there, through their laying on of hands, the people who had received the gospel message from Phillip received the Holy Spirit. Read the rest of this entry »

Right from the early beginning of human race, tongues has revealed its uniqueness in bringing a people group together. A classic example appears in Genesis 11 where the building of the tower of babel became possible because the people were of the same mind and of the same tongue. Read the rest of this entry »

John 12:9-11, “9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. 10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; 11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus”

A pastor saw a young lady in his church after a summer time of her being away. Upon coming back from her vacation, the pastor noticed that her stomach was quite large. He thought that her and her husband were obviously going to have a baby and therefore said, “You’re starting to show.” However she replied, “I’m not pregnant”. Needless to say the woman was very offended, in which time that the Pastor said, “I’m sorry, I’ll perhaps need you to forgive me seventy times seven for that one insensitive comment.” Read the rest of this entry »

Acts 23:12, “And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.”

Paul was known by many as a troublemaker against the kingdom of darkness. I don’t know who these Jews made their vow to, and who it was that would curse them, but they were not going to kill Paul, because God would not allow His servant to die at this time. The thinking of these Jews was so warped because they were willing to come under a curse to kill Paul; however they failed to realize that they were already under a curse, the curse of sin.
