We Are Becoming, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Romans 8:29-30, “29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, … 30And those he predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified” (NIV)

Ever sat down to wonder why The Almighty God who has better things to do has something to do with your life? That He is concerned with your daily affairs. That He takes keen interest of your day-to-day walk, that He loves you in spite of your flaws. That He forgives you when you find it hard to forgive yourself. That He has a plan for your life when all you can see is a future clouded with failures. David says, “LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?,” Psalm 144:3. I wish you would grasp and embrace this thought that the Lord knows your beginning, your middle, and your end, and nothing that happens in your life and mine has any threat to what He wants to do. You can beat yourself up daily because of what you face and struggle with, or like Paul, you can encourage yourself with these words, 2Timothy 1:12, …, FOR I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED and am PERSUADED that HE IS ABLE to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day”. Prayer Puts God To Work, Evans Olang

Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”

Not too long ago I was watching a DVD entitled “extreme engineering”. It was a DVD about how some mega structures have been built. One mega structure that caught my attention was one about building a railroad. They surveyed the area by which the rail would pass. There were different obstacles, a major one being a mountain in front of them. Instead of going around it which was impossible, they only had one choice, to make a way through the mountain however hard it was going to be, attempting the impossible with what they had. With the mountain before them, they had to bring in the right equipment to break through to the other side. They used explosives to create a path. Read the rest of this entry »

What Makes You Burn? Pastor Phil Sessa

Luke 24:31-32, “And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, ‘Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?’

What makes you burn inside and really come alive? What is that sporting event that you shout for your team? I can reference all the Yankee fans here in NYC that screams when the Yankees play and beat their rivals the Boston Red Sox. Read the rest of this entry »

Turning Your Mountain Into A Plain, Pastor Boaz Olang

Zechariah 4:6, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

Are you facing any obstacle, challenge, situation or threats, which are like huge and impossible mountains to climb? Are you right now having piled up needs like a high mountain? Do you feel discouraged and distressed over some things that do not seem to give up, no matter how much you pray? Are there issues in your life and around you, which have built up into mountains too high for you to climb? Do you feel like giving up, at times, because you do not seem to be heading the right direction or realizing your dreams or having your desires met? Read the rest of this entry »

Teach Us To Thrive, Evans Olang

Jeremiah 1:9-10, “9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant,” (NIV)

To trust God daily is an indication you are not satisfied where you are. It does not mean you are not content, it means you are opened to everything the Lord would have to do in your life for His glory. So you trust God to do spectacular things as you are in the expectation mode. We all have things we are expecting from the Lord and we are placing it all in God’s able hands to see us through as we move to greater dimensions. I don’t know about you but I am expecting God to teach me to thrive. Read the rest of this entry »

Preach The Word, Evans Olang

2Timothy 4:2, “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching

Paul reached churches through his preaching and his writings, when it came to Timothy, he had special place for him. He took time to invest truth in him as he journeyed with the Lord. In 2Timothy 4, sounded like Paul’s journey on earth was coming to an end, and he takes time to impart in Timothy to what I would call the last words. People are intrigued by other people’s last words before they pass. I have read last words of some famous people and they left me thinking. Read the rest of this entry »

Standing Strong On Bended Knees, Part 3of3, Evans Olang

Mark 6:30-32, vs. 30, “Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves”

Mark 6:32,So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves”. The disciples listened to Jesus’ call. Luke 11:1, “Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” A disciple of Jesus never asked Him to teach them how to preach, heal the sick, raise the dead. They asked Him to teach them to pray. His classes on prayer was always offsite. What about us? Misguided passion leaves us stubborn to do what we want rather than what He wants.
