Jacob

Living A Lie, Evans Olang

Genesis 32:28, “And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

It’s very easy to be crippled by your own opinions of yourself. Some people tend to add salt to this wound you have created. Instead allowing yourself to be healed, you inflict more pain to yourself. You just can’t see yourself living any way better than the way you already know about yourself. Everything God wants to do in your life is assassinated by what you think of yourself. You keep bringing back to memory what God already forgave you for. Read the rest of this entry »

Trusted Ladder, Sarah Susan

John 1:51, “Jesus then added “I tell you the truth, you will see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man”

How can angels descend and ascend ” ON THE SON OF MAN”

We can see how this happened to a person in a dream, running away due to fear of death, in a very tensed state, Jacob, tired fell asleep on the way and had a dream. Bible states in Genesis 28:12 “He had a dream in which he saw a stairway/ladder resting on the earth, with its top reaching heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Let’s meditate on this STAIRWAY /ladder… Read the rest of this entry »

Bless Me Lord, Evans Olang

Genesis 32:26, “And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks. ” But he said, “I will not let you go unless You bless me!”

We serve a God of too much, God of abundance, God of no limitations. If I look at the story of Jacob and Esau, Jacob deceived his brother and took away his birthright. He then deceived his father to take away his brother’s intended blessing. He also deceived his father in-law and made the best for himself, the only one he could not deceive was God. For what he desired, he had to come clean. Who does not want blessings? Read the rest of this entry »

Inheriting Kingdom Blessings, Pastor Phil Sessa

Matthew 25:34, “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

It’s nice to be rewarded for a job well done. Who doesn’t appreciate a promotion, a raise, a bonus, to show recognition for the work ethic and value that one has established? The one that does the promoting is the supervisor, the boss, the “head honcho.” In this verse the King tells speaks a blessing to the sheep which he places on His right, which is the position of blessing. Lord Establish The Unexpected, Evans Olang

Hebrews 10:9, “then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second”

It amazes me  how God does not do things according to the way we think. He always takes a different turn and just when you think you have figured Him out, He does something that blows your mind and you are back seeking to know more. Over and over again I see God raising the unexpected, the one that the blessing was not secured for by man’s standards, is the one He raises. Read the rest of this entry »

Challenges Can Be Channels For Blessings, Judy Olang

Genesis 45:4-5, 7-8 “Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.”…… vs. 7-8 “But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.” NIV.

I have been reading the Bible from cover to cover and this is my 3rd time starting from Genesis and it always amazes me how every time I read the passages I already read before there is always a new revelation or a renewed understanding of what I am reading at the time. I am assuming we are all familiar with the story of Joseph, how his father Jacob loved him more than his other brothers and this resulted into jealousy among his brothers and they eventually sold him off to the Egyptians and they came back and lied to their father that Joseph died Read the rest of this entry »

I Will Be With You Says The Lord, Evans Olang

Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

In this life, we need company. We cannot make it alone, we know that. Just because we do not want to be alone does not mean we just need anyone to help us in one way or another, we may just need company, someone present even if they say or do nothing. If you look at a child who is terrified, a parent’s presence is enough to calm him or her down. He or she may not look to the parent to take the fear away; the presence of a parent is enough to overcome their fear. They believe the parents are bigger than their imaginary monsters that appear real. Read the rest of this entry »
