He Takes Pleasure In Providing, Evans Olang

Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”

Our Heavenly Father takes pleasure in providing for His children. He is the God of too much, the bible says, “A thousand cattle on the hills belongs to Him“, “Riches and Glory are His“, The God of the impossibilities. He knows each of His children in and out and He knows all their needs. He knows how to give good things to His children. Matthew 7:11, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”. He gives good things, not corrupt, broken, despised, or rejected. He gives the best to His own. He does it with joy, pleasure and gladness, and He gives with all of His heart. Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not lack (AMP)”. The work of a shepherd is to feed, guide, protect, inspect His sheep.  With Him being the Shepherd He guarantees His provision. Isaiah 37:1-14, “14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD”

We live in a time where if anything is going to happen, it will not happen by chance but because there are people praying. When you look at the marriages on the rocks, families in chaos, schools in trouble, the government having challenges, kidnappings left and right, murders, suicides, accidents, you name it is on the rise, how will we stand? There is a constant fear of what might happen even before it happens. Fear of tomorrow cripples majority. Read the rest of this entry »

We Give Ourselves To Prayer, Part 4of4, Evans Olang

Acts 6:4, “But we will give ourselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the word

Desperate people do desperate things. I have come to learn that God answers desperate prayers. Those who do not treat prayers as secondary, what you do when it is convenient or only when there is a need; but you put it as priority because your life depends on it. Those who have learnt the secret prep themselves daily through it. Martin Luther said, “I have so much to do today that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer” (paraphrased). In our time we say, “we are are too busy today to pray”

2Kings 19: 1-4, “3 And they said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah: ‘This day is a day of trouble, and rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth.”

Those who walk with the Lord and trust Him at times are faced by opposing enemies who try to frustrate and bring them down. And a person pregnant with God’s destiny is a target of the enemy, he wants such a person to abort the mission.

Isaiah 39:1-4, “4 …And he said, “What have they seen in your house?” So Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”

Hezekiah in the previous chapters totally depended on God anytime there was a crisis even one that would take his life. His story is also recorded in 2Kings 20. God had sent prophet Isaiah to bring him a message to put his house in order when he was sick and would not recover. We see him humble himself before the Lord, Read the rest of this entry »
