Pouring Your Heart To The Lord, Evans Olang

1Samuel 1:8-18, “But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured my soul before the Lord”

People do struggle to pray. You may have struggled numerous times to pray and still got nowhere. And if you prayed, your prayers felt so dry, not effective, and did not even enjoy it. I remember years back when I had the same kind of struggle and God had to teach me to pray effectively changing my whole perspective on prayers and how to approach the throne of grace. Yes I still struggle to pray, the will to is there, the strength and the effectiveness sometimes fail.

It’s Good For Me, Evans Olang

Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”

I’m honored and humbled to be used of God to reach many. Many years ago I would have never imagined what God would plant in my life as His servant weaknesses and faults. When I tell people I used to be shy and intimidated, it blows their mind and they find it hard to believe that was me. I remember even joking about it and telling my family that the day they will put me in front of a congregation, they better have an ambulance outside to drive me to the hospital for I knew for sure I would pass out. After many years of looking at myself that way, God began to give me confidence by looking at other people who were moving forward and I told the Lord that if they can, I too can. Not because I was jealous of them but because I believed there was more do too for the Lord. Read the rest of this entry »

Mothers Special Ministry, Evans Olang

1Samuel 1:19-28, “21 Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow. 22 But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever.”

I believe by far that to be a mother is one of the most special callings with greater rewards in heaven than that of an evangelist or pastor who may have reached hundreds or even thousands. A mother may take care of one, two, five or even ten children and gain such great rewards because God has a special place in His heart for mothers. Read the rest of this entry »

Colossians 3:23, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”

Let me select a few people in the bible who knew God and acted on what they believed to have been God’s will. Read the rest of this entry »

Hannah’s Prayer Vow, Pastor Phil Sessa

1Samuel 1:11, “O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget think handmaid, but wilt give unto think handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

WOW, what a whooper of a desperate prayer. Hannah just in one chapter shares her deepest heart chamber with God, because it seemed that only He would understand. She was a woman who was misunderstood by those around her. The Lord had closed her womb which in OT times was viewed as a curse by. Read the rest of this entry »

Proverbs Thirty One Woman, Part 3of3, Evans Olang

Proverbs 31:10-30, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”

A virtuous woman is a woman of destiny, Proverbs 31:25, “Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to come”. Everything she is doing is to bringing her strength and honor and it’s not because she is trying to build herself a name but because her character has placed her in a position where people honor and respect her, and therefore she has a destiny that will cause her to rejoice. Mary the mother of Jesus becomes a woman of destiny for she is favored among women to carry a precious seed that will one day save the entire world. Read the rest of this entry »

Proverbs 31:10-30, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”

A virtuous woman is a woman of Obedience, Proverbs 31:11&12, “The heart of her husband safely trust her; so he will have no lack again, she does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” There is a proverb that says obedience is better than sacrifice and we see this in the life of Ruth. She left her home where she worshiped pagan gods and followed Naomi who was her mother in law before she lost her son (husband to Ruth). Read the rest of this entry »
