Pouring Your Heart To The Lord, Evans Olang

1Samuel 1:8-18, “But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured my soul before the Lord”

People do struggle to pray. You may have struggled numerous times to pray and still got nowhere. And if you prayed, your prayers felt so dry, not effective, and did not even enjoy it. I remember years back when I had the same kind of struggle and God had to teach me to pray effectively changing my whole perspective on prayers and how to approach the throne of grace. Yes I still struggle to pray, the will to is there, the strength and the effectiveness sometimes fail.

The Parable Of The Wedding Feast, Part 4of4, Pastor Phil Sessa

Matthew 22:12-14, 12 So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’14“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Kingdom judgment is FINAL

Humanity has created a vast number of ways in which to torture others. It seems that over the years, humanity has created more and more gruesome ways in which to torture one’s enemies. Continue reading “The Parable Of The Wedding Feast, Part 4of4, Pastor Phil Sessa”

The Parable Of The Wedding Feast, Part 3of4, Pastor Phil Sessa

Matthew 22:11-12 “11But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12 So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless

The Parable Of The Wedding Feast, Part 2of4, Pastor Phil Sessa

Matthew 22:12, “So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.”

In part 1 of the Parable of the Wedding Feast, we looked at the reality of the Kingdom of God, and how it is opposed to the Kingdom of this world. Jesus has a Kingdom, and the Kingdom of God dwells within His children. Continue reading “The Parable Of The Wedding Feast, Part 2of4, Pastor Phil Sessa”

Increase Our Faith, Evans Olang

Luke 17, vs. ,”5 – And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

The subject on faith is very important, but what kind of faith? We need faith for sure, however we need faith that works. In this message we will look at the faith we truly need. The opening verse in chapter 17:1 reads, “Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! “. I highlight the word “IMPOSSIBLE” because it sets in motion what kind of faith we need.

The True Asset You Need, Evans Olang

Matthew 19:23-26, “23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

imagesIn business there are things looked into for the health and the growth of the business. They look at ASSETS and LIABILITIES columns as part of their analysis for the health and growth of business. Assets are properties or things or people of great value. In accounting, they are items on balance sheet that constitute the total value of an organization. Liability has a different description, for the sake of the point I would like to make, I will describe it as something that holds somebody back (organization, business) or causes trouble.

Reaching One For Christ, Part 2of2, Pastor Phil Sessa

Acts 8:30-31, “30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.”

Explain the Word of God to them. Philip explained the Word of God to him. As a physical eunuch, he would have been denied access to the temple (Deut. 23:1). If this man was to be reached with the gospel it would have to be outside the temple, which is the plan which God set up, using His servant Philip for this man. Distraction Shifts Focus, Evans Olang

Luke 10:38-42, “40 But Martha was DISTRACTED with MUCH serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

If each of us was to take time to closely look at our lives, we will find that we have too many distractions. And distractions bring about detachment, moving your attention away from what you should be concentrating on, very important things. Sometimes we get distracted even by good things but not necessary at a given time. Continue reading “Distraction Shifts Focus, Evans Olang”
