Once there was a pair of doves living in the wilderness, not knowing where they would get their next season of rain in the desert land where they were naturally born . This was a dry, hot and desolate place, no food, no water. Total hopelessness. They longed for a difference, for a day that would bring rain and quench their thirst. What strikes is a pair of doves lived in that desert, a rare case that not many times one hears! One day a heavy storm broke and the doves were disillusioned as to how would they go out to get their food, even if it meant dry tweeds from wild plants and worried to leave the nest with their newly born chicks. It was heavy showers of rain for hours, thunders, uncontrolled and untamed loud screaming wind blowing madly from here to there, it began to get cold and dark, the little doves were home with their chicks, sheltering them under their wings, warming them. James 1:4&5, “But let patience have it’s perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him”
Nearly everyone struggles with patience. The more I walk with the Lord the more I learn that God is not in a hurry. Read about delivering the Israelites, raising David, Joseph, Paul, Abraham etc. and you will see this trend with God. If God was not patient with us, we would all be gone tomorrow. Continue reading
2Corinthians 12:9, “… My grace is sufficient for you……”
“Amazing grace, how sweet that sounds that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I am found. Was blind but now I see”. What so amazing about grace that John Newton the hymn writer had to write about it?. “What’s so amazing about grace?”
The good news of the New Testament is God’s acceptance of us by grace ALONE through faith. The word “GRACE” in Hebrew are hesed and hen which means undeserved LOVE and FAVOR . God is love, and grace is the out flowing of His love toward undeserving sinners. Grace is love in action. “For God so loved the world that He gave (action word)…” John 3:16. Our salvation is secured because of the favor of God. Ephesians 2:8-9, “ 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast”.
