While You Can’t, In Him You Can, Evans Olang

Philippians 3:13&14, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this is one thing I do, I forget those things which are behind reaching unto those things which are before, I press towards the mark of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ Jesus”

I think that one of the greatest struggles for a Christian is trying to keep up with the Lord. Often times as we walk with the Lord, we get distracted on the way and we loose focus and it takes us time to get back to where we need to be. Also a few people get beaten by their own opinion about themselves especially being affected and infected by their past and so they cannot progress. We know for sure that there is nothing good in man except Christ and in as much as we have failed miserably and we ought to be thrown into the lake of fire, Christ in us cannot deny Himself by casting us away. The fact is we don’t deserve to live but the truth is He has called us His own. We are adopted to be sons and daughters of God. Continue reading “While You Can’t, In Him You Can, Evans Olang”

Dead To Self And Alive Unto Christ, Evans Olang

2Corinthians 5:14-15, “14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again”

This is a kind of message few will say “Amen” to, nevertheless it needs to be sounded more often. I think that many are loosing sight of the reason we serve Christ. While we say and even preach that its not about us but about Him, many of our preaching, worship songs, our actions and even prayers tell a different story. Beware Of False Teachers, Part 3of3, Pastor Phil Sessa

Jude 1:3–4, “3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ “

When one looks throughout the Scriptures and even in our world today, there is constant fighting, contending for land, possessions, property, status, etc…. Jude tells us that we need to CONTEND EARNESTLY for the faith. Continue reading “Beware Of False Teachers, Part 3of3, Pastor Phil Sessa”

Beware Of False Teachers, Part 2of3, Pastor Phil Sessa

2John 7–11, “7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. 9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds”

In part 1 of this series, we examined Peter’s warning of false teachers where he spoke of why the unbiblical doctrine of some is such a dangerous poison among those in the Church. Continue reading “Beware Of False Teachers, Part 2of3, Pastor Phil Sessa”

In His Time, Part 3of3, Sarah Susan

Exactly the night before Haman was to speak to the king to have Mordecai hanged, God did not allow the king to sleep. Sleep is ordered by the Lord. “He grants sleep to those He loves” Psalms 127, Praise Him…Only those who are peaceful can have a good sleep. Continue reading “In His Time, Part 3of3, Sarah Susan”

In His Time, Part 2of3, Sarah Susan

To pick up from where we left, we learn how Haman became excited about his plan and that all the Jews would be destroyed forever. In high spirits, he called his friends and wife Zeresh and boasted of his vast wealth, his many sons, all the ways the king exalted him and how he was elevated above the other nobles and officials… “Pride goes before a fall” Continue reading “In His Time, Part 2of3, Sarah Susan”

In His Time, Part 1of3, Sarah Susan

What is “its time” and what is “our time?” Let us meditate on it ….Many times, we tend to be in a hurry regarding things in our day today life. Occasionally, if there is a delay, we panic…Things are not moving as we had expected…Thus there is also some discouragement /frustration ..and we cannot wholeheartedly praise Him for all His works. The Pillar And Ground Of The Truth, 2of2, Evans Olang

1Timothy 3:14-16, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.”

Having discussed the pillar and ground of the truth in Part 1, Paul further presses upon Timothy to be constant in regard to the greatest diligence, faithfulness, and zeal in handling God’s word. Teaching among other things 6 pillars of the truth that must remain pure and be preached. 1.God was manifested in the flesh, 2. Justified in the Spirit, 3.Seen by angels, 4. Preached among the Gentiles, 5.Believed on in the world, 6. Received up in glory. Continue reading “The Pillar And Ground Of The Truth, 2of2, Evans Olang”

The Sieve Reveals, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Romans 12:1&2, “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”

I struggle sometimes to know what the will of God is for my life is in certain situations. I have no problem knowing the general will of God for His children only when it boils down and narrowed down to my life then it becomes a struggle. Often times you hear the messages “claim it and receive it” then you go to the scriptures and find there is more to claim and receive it. I see more preparation because God would not want to give us something that is good for it only to destroy our lives. I have seen people blessed of God, when you look at the blessing, you could tell it was made possible by God 100% but then you see how that blessings become a stumbling block in their lives. I ask myself why? It is then that I reminded that God is in the business of forming before He can fill. Many want to be filled and insist on being filled without being formed and therefore become leaking vessels. Preparation is vital. Continue reading “The Sieve Reveals, Part 1of2, Evans Olang”
