And Forget Not All His Benefits, Evans Olang

Psalm 103:1-2, “1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:”

To God be the glory great things He has done. He is worthy to be praised, He redeemed our lives from destruction. One woman who had been delivered by Jesus, at one point brought in an alabaster box full of precious oil. She broke the box and out of it came precious oil with fragrance filing the room. She took that which was precious to her to wash Jesus’ feet wiping His feet with her hair. I see a woman blessing the Lord, she is taking that which is precious and giving it back to God what belongs to Him. She is sacrificing and doing what is right and not everyone is happy about it especially Judas Iscariot.

We are blessed to know that we can offer back to God what He requires, worship. I know that we are used to being on the receiving end, but let’s begin to bless the Lord commanding every fiber of our being to acknowledge that He deserves our worship. Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord” We choose to bless the Lord this day, Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth”.

Like A Deer…, Sarah Susan

Psalms 42:1, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God, My soul thirsts for God, the living God, When can I go and meet with God?”

There are some specific animals in the bible with some characteristics that are symbolic to a message it’s passing across and for us to learn and to relate to. We hear about the Lamb of God, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, The righteous are as bold as a lion, a dove descending on Jesus as a sign of the Holy Spirit, etc. Let’s talk about deer and it’s characteristics that applies to us. Does God Have a Need? Pastor Phil Sessa

Psalm 145:16, “You open Your hand, And satisfy the desire of every living thing”

As a science teacher I have taught my students that all life has basic needs. Most living things need food, water, air, and living space (shelter). I’ve heard it said in the context of marriage that man has a need for respect that can be satisfied by a man’s wife. Similarly, women have a need for emotional love that can be fulfilled by her husband (see Ephesians 5). Continue reading

In His Time, Part 3of3, Sarah Susan

Exactly the night before Haman was to speak to the king to have Mordecai hanged, God did not allow the king to sleep. Sleep is ordered by the Lord. “He grants sleep to those He loves” Psalms 127, Praise Him…Only those who are peaceful can have a good sleep. Continue reading

In His Time, Part 2of3, Sarah Susan

To pick up from where we left, we learn how Haman became excited about his plan and that all the Jews would be destroyed forever. In high spirits, he called his friends and wife Zeresh and boasted of his vast wealth, his many sons, all the ways the king exalted him and how he was elevated above the other nobles and officials… “Pride goes before a fall” Continue reading

In His Time, Part 1of3, Sarah Susan

What is “its time” and what is “our time?” Let us meditate on it ….Many times, we tend to be in a hurry regarding things in our day today life. Occasionally, if there is a delay, we panic…Things are not moving as we had expected…Thus there is also some discouragement /frustration ..and we cannot wholeheartedly praise Him for all His works. I Am Still Here, Evans Olang

Psalm 118:17, “I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD”

A question once asked, “Why are we here on earth?”, someone responded, “to live this life to the fullest“. I wouldn’t say that is the reason why we are here primarily, that is what we do while we are here. God designed the earth, populated it and finally created man to fit into what He had created. God being a God of order did not create man on the first day. The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever, that is the purpose He created us for. No one is here by accident but by the divine will of God. The question then you ask yourself, “if I am here, why I’m I here and how long am I going to be here?”, Until what He had planned for me is fulfilled in my life. Continue reading

In Able Hands, Evans Olang

2Corinthians 12:9, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

I have shared from this scripture before but for the sake of those who are working under pressure, feeling tired, spent and exhausted like me, we need to hear this again. I find it easy at times to quote a scripture and then find it hard to apply it in a situation. Then there are those times you look at a scripture and you quote it and feel good to quote it but forget to look at the previous verses that led to it. Continue reading
