Book of Exodus
Exodus 3:1-12, “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consume”
Angels are supernatural creatures that exist in the heavenlies serving as messengers from God and as protectors for His chosen people. In this case, the Angel of the Lord was a visible manifestation of God, possibly the preincarnate Christ. The flame of fire was the glory of God’s presence, the Shekinah, which transformed everything and everyone it touched. This fascinated Moses that he drew closer to see. Read the rest of this entry »
Exodus 3:1-12, “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed”
Always people want to be in comfortable places, comfortable home, job, ministry etc. When you talk about comfort, you will be referring to being set, nothing else to worry about, relaxed nothing further to pursue. I love comfort just like anybody else but I believe God brings us to certain levels that our comfort is disrupted not by what He tells us but by what He reveals to us to see. Romans 8:31, “What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
There is nothing exciting as seeing God display His power in situations we have no control over. In the process of God displaying His power, the old silly devil does the same. We often get terrified of his power and find that we are not progressing. I want us to understand that the devil is powerful, no doubt. He has his way of performing magic tricks, no doubt. We cannot render him powerless but we sure can render powerless what he sends our way because of who is for us. God is amazing, He is not going about rendering the enemy powerless, He goes about showing greater power than the devil’s. Read the rest of this entry »
Genesis 3:1-21, “The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them”
A garment is a type of coat or robe especially used for official purposes. In Genesis after the fall of man, Adam and Eve having had knowledge of their nakedness moved to cover themselves by making for themselves clothing out of leaves. When men fell, 1. Immediately they knew they had failed God, 2. They discovered they were naked and 3. They developed a need to hide. We understand that there are things as human beings we can do on our own and might work but the truth is, it will not last for long. They had leaves covering them not realizing that leaves would soon dry up and fall off. So man tries so hard to cover his nakedness only for it to work but for a season. The bible tells me that there are things that if God does not do, anything someone else will do will be in vain. Psalm 127:1, “Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it: Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh in vain”. I would say that this verse means that anything you are going to do if the Lord is not involved in it, however hard you try and do it, it will never work. Read the rest of this entry »
Exodus 4:1-5, “…So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod””
God can use you because He has placed something in you to work with. You may not know what it is but it’s there. We all have different gifts and talents given by God. There is something about being together in unity that paves away for gifts and talents to be realized. God allows us to have different measures of gifts when shared, our growth increases. The bible says that we collectively are like a human body that has hands, legs, head etc. They are all working together and not able to function fully without the help of the other. The legs cannot tell the hands “I don’t need you” neither can the mouth tell the eyes that it does not need it. They all have different functions but they all work together. Psalm 133:1, “Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Read the rest of this entry »
Genesis 39:6, “Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate”.
To take a way a man’s freedom is to take away his reason for living. Watching inmates being interviewed especially those locked up in a confined environment talk candidly about what it means and feels to loose freedom. There are some who end up going crazy because their freedom is taken away due to what’s been done. Read the rest of this entry »
Romans 8:31 “…If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Our struggle at times is not so much about God blessing us, it’s about others knowing that God has blessed us. Standing boldly and demonstrating God’s blessing is sometimes not received well. To some who look at you blessed feel that you are filled with pride and to some you feel it creates jealousy and therefore keep blessings to yourself. Read the rest of this entry »
