The Sieve Reveals, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Romans 12:1&2, “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”

I struggle sometimes to know what the will of God is for my life is in certain situations. I have no problem knowing the general will of God for His children only when it boils down and narrowed down to my life then it becomes a struggle. Often times you hear the messages “claim it and receive it” then you go to the scriptures and find there is more to claim and receive it. I see more preparation because God would not want to give us something that is good for it only to destroy our lives. I have seen people blessed of God, when you look at the blessing, you could tell it was made possible by God 100% but then you see how that blessings become a stumbling block in their lives. I ask myself why? It is then that I reminded that God is in the business of forming before He can fill. Many want to be filled and insist on being filled without being formed and therefore become leaking vessels. Preparation is vital. Read the rest of this entry »

Your Presence Is Significant, Evans Olang

Genesis 39:1-22, “So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field”

As I shared the other day, we all love compliments, someone speaking good things about us before people. There is always a word that tends to erase every good thing someone has spoken. The word is “BUT”. As long as good things are spoken without the “BUT”, we tend to be ok with it but the moment it comes in the middle, then you become troubled by it. Your concentration on it erases all the good that has been said. Read the rest of this entry »

He Takes Knowledge Of Me, Evans Olang

Psalm 144:3, “LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?”

We are very interesting beings if you think about it. We have issues, we go through changes, we lose directions many times, we deal with fear, we complain and more. I often wonder why the Almighty Perfect God would keep up with us. God promised to deliver the Israelites from Egypt and bring them to the promised land. As He led them there under the  leadership of Moses, they complained and murmured however God was very patient with them. I find it hard if you are like me to keep up with people who cannot get their acts together. After sometime, I expect things to change or get lost because I could dedicate that precious time to something else. I am glad the Lord does not deal with us the same way. Psalm 68:19, “Blessed be the Lord our God who daily loads us with benefits”

Our God is awesome; He does things more than once in our lives, daily He does them. The bible says “His mercies are new every morning”. He does not give us yesterday’s mercies. He knows what we need today and that’s why He tells us not to worry about tomorrow in Matthew 6. If He can be trusted to take care of us today, He can be trusted to take care of us tomorrow. He is our source and our provider, all He desires is that we stay connected.

The Best Is Yet To Come, Part 2of3, Evans Olang

John 2:1-10, “vs. 10…but you have saved the best till now.” (NIV)

When I am a guest in someone’s house or at a party, it is natural for me to wait to be seated, served, directed simply because I am a guest. If I was not told or asked to come and serve, I will come dressed to be served. I would imagine this was the case with Jesus. John 2:3, “And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine”.

Do Not Pass Me By, Evans Olang

Romans 8:31 “…If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Our struggle at times is not so much about God blessing us, it’s about others knowing that God has blessed us. Standing boldly and demonstrating God’s blessing is sometimes not received well. To some who look at you blessed feel that you are filled with pride and to some you feel it creates jealousy and therefore keep blessings to yourself. Read the rest of this entry »
