God Can Give You Favor With The Ungodly, Pastor Phil Sessa

Colossians 3:22, “Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord”

We all desire to be liked by others. As you look through God’s Word you will certainly see that God’s people especially His leaders, were not always given positive treatment as some were mocked, threatened, beaten, and even killed. Continue reading

The Outcome Is In His Hands, Evans Olang

Ezekiel 37:1-14, “And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

It’s easier for me to talk to someone about hope, peace and faith. It’s easier to encourage someone who is going through hard times and even see them coming out of it but when it comes to me facing the same things, I find it hard to encourage myself. Continue reading

Daniel: Name Change Not Nature Change, Pastor Phil Sessa

Daniel 1:6-7, “6 Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego”

Daniel 1:8, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”

As a Christian we certainly want to live in victory, but as you have found out there are times of temptations which test your resolve in the Lord. From the moment Daniel and his friends are taken captive and exiled, they are required to immerse themselves in the language and literature of the Babylonians (1:4), with its focus on sorcery, astrology and polytheism. Is Pride Crouching At Your Door? Evans Olang

Isaiah 39:1-4, “4 …And he said, “What have they seen in your house?” So Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”

Hezekiah in the previous chapters totally depended on God anytime there was a crisis even one that would take his life. His story is also recorded in 2Kings 20. God had sent prophet Isaiah to bring him a message to put his house in order when he was sick and would not recover. We see him humble himself before the Lord, Continue reading
