Why should we give thanks to God? King David sings in Psalm 103 regarding some of the major reasons why one should praise God
“Praise God O My soul all my inmost being, praise His holy name –who forgives all your sins”A person very dear to us may somehow manage to forgive some sins but the important aspect in forgiving is “to forget”, which a mere human being cannot do…”Love keeps no record of wrongs” as per 1Corinthians 13 .
If God starts recording our wrongs/sins, then we cannot stand in His holy presence. The precious blood of Jesus is the ever ready solution for our trespasses so that immediately on confession, sins are washed out and we are justified to appear in His presence. He forgives “ALL OUR SINS” Sometimes people find it easy to forgive some sins but not all sins…We need to thank God for being so gracious for forgiving all sins, irrespective of the type or seriousness involved.
He heals all our diseases, yes God is a healer. There is no disease greater than God …”1John 4:4 says ”The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” So God is greater than any disease or any sickness we face. Disease may not exactly be physical but also mental…Nowadays everywhere we see people suffering with depression/stress which are also classified as diseases. As we can see in the Bible, He can cure any disease, do any surgery (As He did in Genesis 2:21 ,where God did a surgery to Adam , in His sleep )..What a wonderful God we serve.
He redeems our lives from the pit ..There are occasions where people find themselves fallen/oppressed/downtrodden ..They are in a pit …Usually people in the pit are not even noticed…They are not only fallen on the ground but they are thrown /forced into a hole in the ground ???” King David narrates “Unless the Lord has been my help, I would have soon dwelt in the silence of death. When I said ”My foot is slipping” your love O Lord supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul” Psalms 94:18,19 Really there are times when we are in a pit of anxieties/tensions/worries but His love is our only support…”
He crowns us with His love and compassion…The unchanging God is God of compassion ….2 Corinthians 1:3 says He is a God of ALL COMFORT …People may definitely comfort us for a season but they may lose hope on us at times…God is a God of all comfort in all our troubles …Today people are crowned with problems and tensions, but we are so privileged to be crowned with love from God. Satan does not allow us to give thanks, he reminds us of some difficulties instead of counting the number of blessings showered on us… The crowns in this world are temporary…Today a person may be in very high authority /position but this would not last…He cannot enjoy it throughout his life…One day or the other, he has to retire from the post…
He satisfies our desires with good things…Our God always satisfies our desires when they are right of course …Whatever it may be, whether a job or a life partner or a house ..and so on. He is mindful of the smallest desire of each person …Really we have a wonderful God who caters to all our needs though He has many people to take care of he never makes mistakes in this process of supplying/providing ..That is why the saints sing inRevelation 15:3 ”Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty, Just and true are your ways ,King of the Ages”
So that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s he satisfies our desires with good things so that we are renewed…It is not that He satisfies our desires today and not tomorrow. His supply is consistent and continuous…since He has everything in abundance…His supply will never run dry
So let us all resolve to praise Him at all times in all circumstances with all our mind and strength and soul. Amen!
