Exodus 31:6 -11, “I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you : the Tent of Meeting ,the Ark of the Testimony with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent-.They are to make them just as I have commanded you”
Now what is this “tent of meeting” which the Lord had commanded about above ..Exodus 33 clearly describes it ” 7 Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting.
And it came to pass that everyone who sought the LORD went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp. 8 So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle. 9 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. 10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. 11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle”
Literally we may not be asked to build an ark or pitch a tent but we have to spiritually build our bodies for becoming a meeting place with God…”Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you ,whom you have received from God?” 1Corinthians 6:19 ..So we need to build our body as the “Tent of Meeting”-a place where God’s presence can dwell …Yes, God needs to dwell there…/reside/inhabit or settle comfortably….The world cannot see Jesus Christ, rather we need to exhibit Him….God has given us the skill …He has set the conscience within us –rather the sense of right and wrong /principles/ethics … Question, are we building our bodies to become a meeting place with Almighty or with Satan ? We are indeed a temple in which the Spirit of God dwells…”Therefore I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship”, Romans 12:1.
Noah struggled but built the ark , which became a blessing to many…If we also build our bodies as “the tent of meeting” in which God dwells, then we will be a blessing and refuge for many perishing souls. No one can escape with an idea they are not given the necessary skill /talent …The parable of talents in Mathew 25:15 says” To one he gave five talents of money, to another, two talents and to another one, one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey …Yes, God has entrusted/delegated certain tasks for which we are accountable, each according to our ability.. ”Just and true are your ways”. There are so many, in dire poverty but why did God bless us like this ? How are we using our skills? There are many ways of livelihood/employment etc. but how are we balancing our priorities ? Since I had to spend almost three hours in traveling for work, I had asked God ”Oh Lord, you ensure that I have a job very close to my house, so that I will save time and spend time in your mighty ministry”. So He answered ”You cannot lay down conditions for me, rather obey me…In whatever time you are left with, be faithful and involve in your work…I will answer your prayers”. Though it was quite tough to obey His voice, after a tiring day, but by His grace took some time to work in His vineyard…Though it is very less, God values everything we do…May be our human authorities do not appreciate or recognize our effort/exertion, God does…”The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed “ Psalms 103:6. Soon, God taught me how to manage the work, which I used to take 11 hours earlier , now in less than 8 hours. Yes, He is the storehouse of wisdom and knowledge, He is an ever present help in times of trouble …Though my colleagues stay late, God enables me to complete my work in time, which was nothing less than a miracle ……“ 4 For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.” Psalms 92:4 to finish, Sarah Susan
