Bleeding Believers, 3of3, Evans Olang

Leviticus 17:11, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood…”

John 15:7, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you”. Yesterday we talked about the bleeding believer who needs to abide in the vine, today I want us to concentrate on “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you” It’s good to abide which in other translations use the word “remain”, we also need to allow the Words of the Lord to abide (remain) in us.
The reason why the word needs to remain in us is because that is blood to sustain and fuel us to move everyday in Him. Check how John reveals to us how the Word is connected to the Lord John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”. He was and is the Word, and in Him was life and according to Leviticus 17:11, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood…”, His Word is life and blood to us.

Check how He came to us in John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh (blood) and dwelt among us”. When He broke the bread with His disciples at the last supper, He said eat this bread which represents my body broken for you and the bread is also known as the Word of God. He also said drink this wine which represents the blood of the Lamb shed on the cross of Calvary. Thank God that His blood can now flow in our streams because we are abiding and we can live because He lives. We are not connected to a dead Vine but a living Vine for He is life. The more we know the Word, the more we know Him. The more we can live according to His Words, the more we are imitating the Life of Christ. His words abide in you, His words would steer you in the right direction and you will not even work hard to bear fruit, they will come because you are abiding. The reason the moon shines is because it draws its light and strength from the Sun. We as believers draw our light for the Sun (Son) Jesus and we become the moon that will shine in the middle of darkness., Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven”. You will not bear fruits (shine) unless you abide in Him and His words abide in you. We try so hard to produce fruits while in actuality we needed to abide and His Blood and Word would help us grow.

I want us to understand that the Word can speak on it’s own. Someone said the Word of God does not need an attorney or witnesses, it is able to defend itself anywhere at any time. The Word is powerful and cannot be changed or altered. When we have no voice and at times cannot defend ourselves, the Word of God will stand for sure. The Word will speak in us, for us and at the same time the Word will speak out of us. The moment that the Word leaves us, it does not loose the power and strength but we who have lost it will. Genesis 4:10, “… the voice of thy brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground”. When Cain slew Abel, Abel died but his blood cried out to God from the ground when it could not speak from the body anymore, now in Hebrews 12:24 says, “And Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Able”. I would rather have the Blood and the Word speak through and in me than from somewhere. My prayer for you is that you continue to abide in the True Vine and His Word will abide. We can be encouraged in this discouraging world. Let the blood of Jesus that speaks louder than Abel’s circulate in our systems, our lives depend on Him for without Him, WE ARE NOTHING. Let’s move from being BLEEDING BELIEVERS to BLENDING BELIEVERS. Blending believers will seize the opportunity to blend in the Lord.
