The Need For The People Of GOD To Pray, Bro. Jose Ocasio

Posted on Updated on

2Chronicles 30:17-20, “17 For there were many in the assembly who had not sanctified themselves; therefore the Levites had charge of the slaughter of the Passover lambs for everyone who was not clean, to sanctify them to the Lord. 18 For a multitude of the people, many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord provide atonement for everyone 19 who prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he is not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.” 20 And the Lord listened to Hezekiah and healed the people” I was reading 2 Chronicles chapter 30 this morning in my devotional time, this chapter as you all know is about king Hezekiah and how he was instrumental in bringing true worship back to all Israel and Judah…. you read in the previous chapter how he went right to work with opening up the temples, and getting the Levites and priesthood to return back to true worship , chapter 29. This king did not give up, but encouraged everyone, that there was work that needed to be done. The people needed to return to God, because they went after other things and the GOD Israel was not first in their lives. In chapter 30 we read, that the feast of Passover could not be celebrated until all were cleansed, and purified, including the officiating priest….. but the verses that I want to highlight here is in chapter 30 v 17,18. Since many of the people had not purified themselves, the Levites had to slaughter their Passover lamb for them, to set them apart for the Lord., later in that verse it says that King Hezekiah prayed for them. and v. 20 says and the Lord listened to Hezekiah, and healed the people…….what example of prayer, he just did not want to have a “religious rite” or “service” but knew that God hears, and knew that the condition of the heart was far more important than a religious festival or rite. May we as God’s people not fall into that snare, but may we come to God, daily on our knees, weeping, and breaking before him. We need to be a HOLY people, and to be Holy we must pray and read his word daily and live that life of holiness…..I just wanted to share this from my heart, it is not criticism but an encouragement to me. As a Holy priesthood of believers let’s make prayer top priority, I too am working in this discipline as I walk in the Lord from day to day. Love you guys,., you mean the world to me. continue to lift me up in prayer… I need to be disciplined in this area and other areas as well. MARANATHA! Blessings Bro. Jose
