Uniqueness Of Christianity, Evans Olang

Posted on Updated on

What do you think is uniqueness of Christianity? No one in any religion in the entire world has ever risen to claim they have the POWER TO FORGIVE SIN, Jesus Christ of the Christians has. Matthew 9:6, “But that you may know that the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) has power on earth to forgive sins”. This is one of the reasons they hated Him the most, they didn’t mind Him healing the sick and raising the dead. Not only has He the power to forgive sins, He has distinguished Himself as unique. He was here on earth 100% God and 100% Man meaning He was the infinite God Man. John 1:1, “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God…without God nothing made could have been made….the word was made flesh and dwelt among us (paraphrased). Jesus the living word came in flesh yet without sin. The reason He came to us inform in flesh was to relate to us and redeem us. You can only redeem what you are related to. He understood what it meant to be tempted, go without, be exhausted, loose a friend, to be attacked but still became a victor. Who understands the nature of suffering like He does?

Because of His uniqueness, He has described Himself as THE only way to God, John 14:6, “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE“. To get to God, Jesus is the way; to know the Truth, He is the truth; to have life, He is the life. Why do we pray in Jesus name? because as I have mentioned, that is how we get access to the Father, John 14:26, “…that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you“. If He used the word I Am “A” way, “A” truth and “A” life, that would mean that there is another way to get to God and that would mean that He is not THE only way as Oprah Winfrey and many other professing Christians states. STATING that HE IS shows that there can be no one besides Him. This is where the 2nd commandment comes in, Exodus 20:3-5, vs. “You shall have no other gods before Me. vs. 4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; vs. 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God“. This is also the God in Jesus saying that He is the only ONE. See when He died on the cross, not only was He the Savior of the world, He also became the Lord. Being Lord means taking ownership and there can be no two owners but one, Romans 14:9, “For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living“, 1Corinthians 8:6, “yet for us there is ONE God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and ONE Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live“.

People like to come to people who will receive them, Jesus came to His own and His own rejected Him. He knew He would be rejected way before He came to us. As someone said, the best way He could glorify His Father in heaven was while here on earth and we glorify God when we submit to Jesus. Philippians 2:5-10, “5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Just like a woman cannot have more than one husband, Christ is a husband to one wife to those who received Him therefore we call Him Lord. He says, choose ye this day whom you will serve, either be God or …. the choice is ours. He has revealed to us who He is, what He stands for and what He requires of us.

Different religions teach that it’s by works that we are saved, the bible teaches in Ephesians 2:8&9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”. We don’t get to heaven by our good works but by the gift of grace through faith. And Grace is a favor rendered to one who desires it and does not deserve it. No one can take the credit of making it to heaven by themselves, Jesus is THE way to Heaven. Blessings Ev
