2Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for thee, my strength is made perfect in weakness"
Sometimes ago I started to experience something with my car I had not experienced before. I watched it closely as I was driving and realized it was losing power. Breaking sound from the exhaust system made it more clear and I wondered what was wrong with my car. Later I took it to a garage where they found the car needed tune up. The plugs were not firing properly and my fueling system was out of place. The car was still performing but not with power.
Wondering why I’m talking to you about my car? You may be feeling tired, worn out, spent, finished, exhausted. And your current state is affecting your life for you cannot function effectively like you should. Yes you are functioning but not with power. Just like my car, it was still performing but not with power simply because it did not have strength it needed. Everyone needs strength to make it up the mountain, strength to fight the enemy, strength to accomplish a task. When there is no strength we become vulnerable and less effective. God has His garage (if I may use this term) where we can go and be restored and strengthened again. I was told my plugs were not firing properly let’s look at this in the Spiritual realm, your prayer life plug is weak, reading the word plug is weak too, witnessing plug is weak and reaching others plug is weak so what happens, you find it hard to perform your duties at work, home, ministry because your plugs are not firing enough strength to your life.
2Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for thee, my strength is made perfect in weakness". We need to understand that God’s grace is more than enough. Grace is given and not earned. We are told that it’s more than enough for them that are His. Can you imagine receiving grace and new mercies everyday and yet it never runs out? The bible says "…My strength is made perfect in weakness". I love this line for it reminds me that His strength is completely made perfect in my weakness, in other words it was already there, fits like a glove regardless of what happened when I lost my strength. When you come to His shop, He will boost your strength into perfection even in your weakness. Psalm 46:1, "God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". The strength in our lives is God Himself, so many times when we feel weak and tired in the Spirit, we need to check again to see who is in control of our strength.
Psalm 73:26, "My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever", We can’t put our confidence in the flesh, the psalmist tells us the flesh and the heart fails but God is the strength of our heart. Thank God for His strength, you may have a lot to do and should be complaining and murmuring, you should be looking gloomy and you should be mean to people who hand you more work but because you know the Lord is the strength of your heart, you will draw strength from Him and give your job, ministry, home 110% for your hope and strength is built on nothing less than Jesus. Everyone will expect you to be overwhelmed and sink but you will sail on top of what other people are sinking in for God is tuning you up, taking off the old plugs clogged with dirt, cleaning the fuel system and making it clear that your strength may be back. You still have more mountains to climb, more valleys to go through, more work to do. You still need to clock more miles than men ever expected for God has given you His strength.
Caleb in the Old Testament was 80 years old but he felt like 40 for he says the same strength he had when he was 40 is the same strength he had when he was 80. “I can do all things, survive all things, deal with all things, face all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13. Psalm 18:1-3, "I will love thee Oh Lord, my strength, the Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my strength: my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my High Tower. I will call upon the name of the Lord who is worthy to be praised so shall I be saved from my enemies". Isaiah 26:1, "Trust in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength"
God is interested in seeing us get strong and perform His duties. We know for sure we cannot by ourselves that’s why in Him we live and move and have our beings. Everyday we will be strong because He makes us strong but we always need to go to His garage (prayer room, His word) for tune up for the race ahead.
Now my car went through restoration to a position in which it was not when I bought it in. Watch this, my car was not made bigger having been tuned up, it was made better. The Lord will not bring us a secretary or greater machines and the like to do greater things, He will equip us to be better in any place He plants us. Be unique in all that you do for God’s strength is unique. Feeling weak and tired, take a few minutes and walk to His throne for tune up and expect to be made better and not bigger. Blessings Ev
