Trusted Ladder, Sarah Susan

John 1:51, “Jesus then added “I tell you the truth, you will see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man”

How can angels descend and ascend ” ON THE SON OF MAN”

We can see how this happened to a person in a dream, running away due to fear of death, in a very tensed state, Jacob, tired fell asleep on the way and had a dream. Bible states in Genesis 28:12 “He had a dream in which he saw a stairway/ladder resting on the earth, with its top reaching heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Let’s meditate on this STAIRWAY /ladder…When a person has to climb or get onto a position higher than himself, he definitely needs something, a boost, in this case a ladder needed. A ladder comprises of steps, which have to be climbed one at a time, to reach the top of the ladder.

Our Lord Jesus Himself is the ladder, (Heaven is his throne and earth is His footstool) who came down from heaven to this earth. As He rightly said “I am the way , the truth, and the life” , so only through Him can we reach our destination -heaven.. The seven sayings on the cross are like seven steps of the ladder to reach our heavenly abode…First step being forgiveness, without which our prayer of repentance and faith in God, will not reach God. Secondly after forgiving our trespassers, showing way to salvation and the process to enter the eternal kingdom. Thirdly to be considerate to our fellow beings, loving our neighbors as ourselves. Fourth step is to always have thirst for the lost souls /dying world. Fifth always remembering the pain when Jesus was forsaken by the Father because He became sin (treated as a sinner) for each one of us. Sixth step is finishing the task which we have been sent to earth for/ complete the mission. Lastly we need to learn to commit ourselves into His mighty and trustworthy Arms …

Last but not the least, the support which the ladder gives while a person is in the process of climbing is so very comforting. Since the ladder is properly fixed, we can trust it and hold firmly to it so that we will not fear falling, failing or drifting away. “Let us hold firmly to the faith we profess” Yes, once we make an attempt to start the journey in Jesus, climbing this ladder, Holy Spirit of God will help us reach our God, the Father.

Though we are like Jacob running away from fearful circumstances/tough situations in life , we can still look to Jesus, who is our only HOPE -our way for eternal happiness

In Christ
Sis Sarah
