Mark 9:14-29,”…But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us”
To conclude, let’s see the man’s faith and Jesus power did.
Mark 9:25, “… He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you to come out of him and enter him no more!”. There are some things you can ask to leave. Anything terrorizing you and I have to be commanded to leave. The enemy cannot be begged to leave, he has to be commanded. In the case of Joshua, Zechariah 3:1-2“1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! “. Jesus rebuked and commanded.
Rebuke is to turn back or keep down which makes me believe we need to send back the delivered package by the enemy. vs. 26, “Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him”, the command was so strong that all the junk began to terrorize the young boy for the last time as they gathered all their belongings to leave. There are some things that don’t leave without a fight, the bible says in 2Corinthians 10:4, “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds”, this is why the word of God is powerful, it battles strongholds especially lies. The things that were in this boy were strong holds. No word shall return void that proceeds from the mouth of Lord. Jesus had spoken, the unclean spirits had no choice but to leave and the young boy had no choice but to be free.
“And when the unclean spirits left, he became as one dead and so many said, “he is dead”, the child looked dead, the people around him passed judgment that he was dead. It’s not recorded what went through the mind of the father of the child. At least when he was being terrorized he was alive, now he appeared dead. Philippians 1:6, “Be confident in this very thing, that He which hath began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. What people thought and what looked dead did not intimidate Jesus. He might have been the only one with a different look at things yet he was not moved by what people thought. He knew what He had started, He was able to complete it. Do not be intimidated when you have believed God for something and it looks like it’s not going as desired, and everyone around you is telling you not to believe in the Jesus stuff. Linger longer, Jesus has never FAILED?
Mark 9:27, “…but Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose”, AMEN, AMEN. Is the Lord wonderful. He did not touch the boy in the beginning, even at the time of rebuking the spirit. But when everyone thought he was dead, He reached him and took him by the hands and lifted him up. His complete restoration came as a result of Jesus touching him and raising him up. Isn’t it amazing to see that the Lord will raise His people and not leave them down.
A father’s son is restored, his faith is boosted even more, his son is healed, and has a sound mind. The best thing that could ever happen to both is encountering with the Savior and the Lord. In conclusion, if Jesus was not moved by your past situation and the present condition of this boy, and then He was not intimidated by the request of the father when the disciples could not do it and finally He was not intimidated by the comments from the crowd saying that the child is dead, why not begin to trust Him with your past, present and future for He is the same yesterday, today and forever more He changes not. He is moved by your feelings and not intimidated by your situations. Blessings Ev
