The Sieve Reveals, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Romans 12:1&2, “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”

I struggle sometimes to know what the will of God is for my life is in certain situations. I have no problem knowing the general will of God for His children only when it boils down and narrowed down to my life then it becomes a struggle. Often times you hear the messages “claim it and receive it” then you go to the scriptures and find there is more to claim and receive it. I see more preparation because God would not want to give us something that is good for it only to destroy our lives. I have seen people blessed of God, when you look at the blessing, you could tell it was made possible by God 100% but then you see how that blessings become a stumbling block in their lives. I ask myself why? It is then that I reminded that God is in the business of forming before He can fill. Many want to be filled and insist on being filled without being formed and therefore become leaking vessels. Preparation is vital.

The word of God sets us up to know God’s will and for us to know God’s will, we start with Mathew 6:33, which says to us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ALL these things will be given to you as well. Does that mean that upon seeking the kingdom of God everything I desire will automatically be given? Not quiet, there is something about seeking the kingdom of God that changes YOU to know who He is and who you are in relation to Him. I remember when I was young we would not be quick to take the corn flour and make corn bread out of it. We had a sieve we used to sift the flour before using it. The interesting thing about the sieve, it let the good flour pass through as we shook it and retained little chunks, husks, little sand we missed seeing left in the sieve. The sieve separated what was acceptable and rejected.

This is true with the word of God, as you are seeking His kingdom first and His righteousness, what you are doing is setting your life in prayer and His word to be shaken to sift through what is acceptable. Proverbs 10:32, tells us “The lips of the righteous know what is ACCEPTABLE“. How will you know what is acceptable if you are not sifted through prayer and His word?

Had you not been sifted, you would have not known that things like pride, stinginess, un forgiveness, fear, doubt, anger to mention a few were lingering in your life and what you desired would be a stumbling block if given unless God first dealt with what was left in the sieve. Now I understand why some things I prayed for did not come to pass or were delayed, God did not want the blessing to be a stumbling block. I did not have a stronger character to support what He wanted to do. I did not let my life be sifted first. Had I been to the sieve first, I would have known what I needed God to work on my life first before asking what I desired of Him in line with His will for my life. I want to be formed first before I can be filled, I hope that is your prayer however we will not know until we have been in the sieve first. To continue, Blessings Ev
