Romans 8:29-30, “29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, … 30And those he predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified” (NIV)
Ever sat down to wonder why The Almighty God who has better things to do has something to do with your life? That He is concerned with your daily affairs. That He takes keen interest of your day-to-day walk, that He loves you in spite of your flaws. That He forgives you when you find it hard to forgive yourself. That He has a plan for your life when all you can see is a future clouded with failures. David says, “LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?,” Psalm 144:3. I wish you would grasp and embrace this thought that the Lord knows your beginning, your middle, and your end, and nothing that happens in your life and mine has any threat to what He wants to do. You can beat yourself up daily because of what you face and struggle with, or like Paul, you can encourage yourself with these words, 2Timothy 1:12, …, FOR I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED and am PERSUADED that HE IS ABLE to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day”.
How often do we feel God has forsaken us or does not know us? His word to us this day is that He FOREKNEW us even before we knew ourselves, He tells Jeremiah, “Before I formed thee, I KNEW thee”, in other words, “I created you for a purpose”. God did not create you then found something for you to do, He created you for a purpose He had in mind FOR YOU for His own glory. For this reason He predestined us to be conformed to the likeness of His Son. We were created with a destiny, Jesus being the picture of what we would be. John 1:12, tells us “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (power) to BECOME children of God…” The end result, the final product, is to be like Jesus, and the process, we are BECOMING (getting there), the fuel to become is the power through receiving Him. Even though we are still “becoming”, we are glad to know what we will be like (our end result).
When God predestined you, the calling was part of it. Either you have received it or you are yet to receive it. To some it has been revealed what God requires of them, to some, God is about to. Ephesians 1:17-19, “17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; THAT YOU MAY KNOW WHAT IS THE HOPE OF HIS CALLING, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”. We can be revived today knowing that God is not done with us regardless of how cold, rigid, rugged, dormant we are. God has taken knowledge of us and He is mindful of our beginning, middle and our end. Our future may be clouded but we know that God is the Pilot who will help us land safely. Thank God that even though we are not there yet, we are becoming, “…for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed” Romans 13:11.. We are saved, we are being saved and we shall be saved. 1John 3:2, “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” blessings Ev
