I Am Not Dead Yet, Part 2of2, Evans Olang

2Kings 7:1-20, “And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, why sit we here until we die?”

And the four leprous men reasoned and moved, vs. 5-6″And when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of Chariots, even the noise of horses, even the noise of great host: and they said one to another, Lo, King if Israel has hired against us the kings of Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us”. When these men moved, God took over. Think of the things you see yourself doing which are acceptable according to God’s word, then think of your limitations that have paralyzed you. Here is something to chew on, the world crowns success, God crowns faithfulness. You may not be successful but you can be faithful and that could be a great strength an employer could be looking for in a job situation. In God’s eyes we are not dealt with by who we are and what we have accomplished but by what He accomplishes through us. It is good to have the qualifications, it is a greater blessing when you see the Lord fight for you where you do not have all that it takes, I’m speaking from experience. Somewhere in Romans it says, “them that He called, He justified and them that He justified, He also glorified”. This is what faith is all about, hoping for those things which are not seen and yet believing that they can happen. 2Corinthians 12:10, “Therefore I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches and necessities, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong”. May I use this verse in a different way, “when you are not that’s when you are for Christ’s’ sake.

The four lepers moved, the Lord multiplied the sound of their feet and they sounded like a mighty army. Take a closer look at what God did, God did not change their condition for the sake of the enemy, He changed the way the enemy perceived of them. God may not change your situation or circumstances, He may allow someone else see you as an asset. God may allow someone else to see more potential in you than you could see by yourself and that is because He has reserved a tank for His glory for such a time as this. They were weak almost dying, they did not have war gear and to make it worse, they were just four heading to the enemy’s camp to surrender and that is when the Lord made their feet sound like a mighty army. Of course their walk was no different and they did not even know what happened; only God knew. I do not know how God does it but it works. I may never understand how He operates but I love to be part of His operations.

The enemy did not care to check if these were true warriors coming after them, they fled leaving their tents, their horses and everything for the sake of their lives. “Greater is He that lives in side of us than He that is in the world”, 1John 4:4 tells us. Read the rest of the story and you will see how they ate and drunk and had a good time, God favored them. They came and mentioned it to the king of Israel of what happened. The king of Israel thought the Syrians were playing a trick on them and the Syrians thought Israel came to attack them, God was in control of the destiny of these four men. All my life I never got what I deserved or qualified, all I have known is how best God can be glorified in my life through what He does therefore when I moved, God stepped in and made the sound of my feet sound like a mighty army. Instead of being judged by what I had, I was judged by what God could do through me. So the things I have not yet accomplished will not cause my dreams and desire to die. Though it looks like nothing is happening and the conditions are getting tougher, part of me maybe affected and not function effectively, I am reminded God is in control. Even in the midst of it, I will not let them hinder me from rising up and moving. I may be feeble and I may not walk well but that is a good sign that I am not dead yet. Psalm 118:17, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord”. God has a reserved tank for a time like this. My life in Christ is a book yet to be written, a song yet to be sung, a testimony yet to be testified, a desire yet to be fulfilled to the glory of God. I cannot go under just because I have leprosy in my life. I encourage you too not to go down, though something in you is draining life out of you and at times you feel like this is it and can’t do it anymore. It is not over, until God says it is over, so ask the Lord to show you the other tanks He put on reserve , rise up and use what is in that tank and give God all the glory as a sign you are not dead yet. Dead things have no voice. Blessings Ev
