Proverbs 31:10-30, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”
A virtuous woman is a woman of destiny, Proverbs 31:25, “Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to come”. Everything she is doing is to bringing her strength and honor and it’s not because she is trying to build herself a name but because her character has placed her in a position where people honor and respect her, and therefore she has a destiny that will cause her to rejoice. Mary the mother of Jesus becomes a woman of destiny for she is favored among women to carry a precious seed that will one day save the entire world. Luke 1:42, “and she spake out with a loud voice, and said, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,” Luke 1:44, “Lo and blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of these things which were told of her from the Lord.” A woman of destiny does consecrate herself, she sets herself apart from many things that might try and abort her destiny. She even knows who to hang out with and as for Mary; she was hanging out with Elizabeth the mother of John who at that time was also pregnant. Both women knew how to encourage and build each other up. She has no time to fool around when she knows someone’s life depends on her destiny.
Time fails me for I would have talked about a persistent virtuous woman (the woman with the issue of blood), Leadership (Esther). Proverbs 31 talks about all these characters. I have mentioned these qualities in different women, but the writer believed that a woman was capable of having all these characters. None of these things were inherited or just came about, someone had to work hard to achieve them. I love the way it starts in Proverbs 31:10, “who can find a virtuous wife (woman), for her worth is far above rubies,” I believe God is raising Virtuous, precious, powerful women who will be movers and shakers because of their character. “Women who perceives that their merchandise is good, and their lamp does not go out by night,” Proverbs 31:18 meaning she knows who she is and she knows that her character is good and because of that she keeps her inner beauty and the outer beauty shinning 24, 7, her character is not seasonal. Proverbs 31:29, “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” I have heard it said, Charisma will put anyone on top, but only character will keep them there. Proverbs 31:10-30, “Favor (charm) is deceitful, and beauty is vain (passing), but a woman that feareth the Lord, shall be praised.” The fear of the Lord is the key to these qualities. It shows who you are abiding in.
May the Lord cultivate the spirit of the Shunammite woman (kindness and faith), the Spirit of Ruth (Obedience), Spirit of Mary (Destiny), Spirit of Hannah (praying) in the lives of our women. A woman who fears the Lord shall be praised. Blessings Ev
