Undo What Has Been Done, Part 1of2, Evans Olang

Genesis 26:15-34, “18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father”

Wells are dug down deep for water. No one in their right mind digs wells for fun. Human survival depends on water. Christ referred to Himself as the Living Water that quenches the thirst of men. The Samaritan woman in John 4 came to the well to draw water and right at the well, she met Jesus who asked for water then later claimed to have water she needs to make her thirst no more. She desired this water. How about us?

To desire water sounds so good but here is the problem, in the book of Genesis, Abraham had dug wells and at a later time, the philistines (enemies) came and filled them with earth (soil). They covered them up and water would not flow anymore. Genesis 26:15, “Now the Philistines had stopped up all the wells which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, and they had filled them with earth“. Do you realize that you have an enemy constantly trying to fill your wells with dirt? You lost your effectiveness because water is not flowing in your well, the enemy covered it up. You have become rigid, dry and gasping for breath. The desert scotching sun has left you weary to the point of giving up. You wonder what happened to the healing, restoration and deliverance promised by God to His children. And the most important thing, you have lost connection with God. The explanation is simple, “your well is covered up”. You must thefore not expect new wells to be dug when there are wells to be uncovered. You have to go back to the old wells and dig them up. Running from place to place is not the answer, self-pity will not work, you have a job to do, rise up and go to work.

Genesis 26:18, “And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father”. Your survival depends on whether you have water running. Dig your wells again, you need that first love, that fire to serve Christ, the passion to witness, desire for greater things in response to His will. When you encounter with the living water, you will thirst no more. But no one will do it for you, this is between you and God. You have to take a stand and say, “I will dig my wells again”. “I can’t go on living a defeated life because I allowed the enemy to fill my wells”. The enemy knows that is where your life source is and that is why he filled them up in the first place. Isaiah 12:3, “Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation“. Don’t you know that right where you are you have a well of salvation that has more to offer than just salvation? Psalm 103:2, “Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not HIS BENEFITS“. Wells of salvation has benefits, dig them again, undo what’s been done. will finish in part 2. Blessings Ev
