Phi 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, make your request be known to God”
It is vital that we pray earnestly, effectively, constantly and by faith. I am talking about beyond our usual prayers, prayers that causes heaven to stop and listen. The prayers that sends hell into chaos. Daniel made these kind of prayers and what did Daniel have that we don’t have at our disposal? If there is one mission the enemy has, it is to stop believers from praying and I think he has succeeded in many levels.
He is afraid of weak men on bended knees. I have purposed in my heart to make prayers that move heaven and prayers that shake hell, my life depends on it. I have found that the times I prayed these kind of prayers, the more I was able to fight my battles effectively, my faith was elevated to the next level and the more I was encouraged for I knew I had brought all my cares upon Him who cares, 1Peter 5:6&7.
Be anxious for nothing in other words be careful, nervous, moody, worried, concerned, restless, fretful, fearful, frightened for nothing for all these are a hindrance to effective praying. When these things begin to creep in, faith and confidence in Christ is paralyzed. With prayer and supplication, which are the praying stages, we understand the reason we pray is because we know GOD CAN. I used to get frustrated because when I prayed at times to God sometimes it felt like my prayers were not being answered and I became discouraged. I later realized with God’s help that the first thing why I should pray is because God can (able). I should not pray primarily because God will, I should pray because God can. Whether He does it or not should not be my biggest concern. My concern should be, did I believe that He could do it to bring it to Him? This kind of attitude humbles me to trust Him for something I know I’m not qualified to have but because He has qualified me to have it, He will give it to me any way according to His will while I pray. Mark 11:24, “What thingsover you desire when you pray, believe you receive them and you shall have them” . Let the priority of your prayer be that GOD CAN. The leper who came to Jesus in Mathew 8 did not come because Christ was willing to heal him but rather because he believed Christ had the ability to heal. He said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed”, Matthew 8:2-3. He did not say “if you CAN”, that was settled in his heart. “God can” leads to “God wills”.
This is good stuff knowing that instead of worrying, we can come to the Lord in prayer and supplication. I believe that for a prayer to be complete, praises and thanksgiving must be incorporated. David tells us that he will come into His gates with praises and thanksgiving in his heart. I don’t need to wait for a thanksgiving dinner to give a one minute thanks, it is a daily thing. Here thanksgiving could be in two ways, giving thanks for the things He has done and thanking Him in advance for the things not yet done.
Prayer is vital for it paves away for God to move in our lives, but we have stop worrying about the outcome and pray because Christ has called us to pray 2Chro 7:14, “If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land”. No way can one survive and make it without prayers. If you are not praying for whatever reason, adjust your attitude, take time to pray effectively, earnestly, constantly and by faith. Pave away for move when you pray because God can, blessings Ev.
